will be pissing outside for the rest of the night.
I should of just bought The Works ,, that stuff gets all the way down to the mineral stains.
now this Lysol claims to dissolve minerals too, but for the amount that was in the toilet, it should of dissolved the toilet down to the floor. It didnt even touch the stains. I need to take that toilet out. its well water 5gallons.. such a waste of water.
I dont plan on sticking around in this house much longer though.
just fed up with the area and rather spend life spitting out a mortgage payment , than sticking around here with the blood sweat and tears and having no love for the place anymore. I tried but the trash across the way is going to get me a homicide charge sooner or later. I just want a place I cut the grass..
this house was built in 1888 and it shows. I cant spend the rest of my life repairing it.. just not worth it anymore..

I'm laughing with you, not at you.....
I was raised there in a house built right after the civil war.
after we moved some assholes burned it down and now the lot is still sitting empty 40+ years later.
If I were rich I would buy it.
    here it is

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/6747+Sylvan+Ave,+Verona,+PA+15147/@40.5001827,-79.8394092,197m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m7!1m4!3m3!1s0x8834ecaf89f72121:0x355b4d47b7fbdb44!2sMt+Ave,+Verona,+PA+15147!3b1!3m1!1s0x8834eca55cd8c179:0xd647e525afb4fc!6m1!1e1

it's the huge empty lot, not 6747.

here is what the house looked like. the street would be to the right....

so we could have been neighbors if I were still there.

lot's of memories coming back looking at the area. those hedges used to be taller than the phone poles and lots of fruit trees.

I can't believe it...but SC has NO car test/s to pass. :) We used to have to pass a yearly inspection; but that hasn't been around in at least 10 yrs (or more).

But since there are certain things a car really should or shouldn't be doing, we probably should have some kind of yearly inspection...so I shouldn't be that surprised that we don't have this requirement.

    1st off: [IMG] :D

The toilets here are the original ones from when this house was built in 1950 or so, and we use well water. DEARGOD the stains and build-up I have to keep out of these is indescribable. The Lysol blue squirt stuff really is the best I've found to get the doody/mineral stain when nothing else will touch it. Honestly I think its better than The Works...but then I don't know about the canisters and wand thing. :D

so you grown up here?.. Verona is only up the river from me, about 9miles.

its ok.. bad idea was funny..

Ive been house hunting almost everyday. but the only one thats really nice and local to us is 98K .. will take me and the women over a year for 20% down.. but its something now we have to do.
I did find this one house for 25K its a little close to the highway and no public transportation .. but I think we may have to get rid the idea of catching a bus, not for me but the gf, cause she cant drive in the snow.

Ha, the piece of crap we rent is worth about 450K and it needs LOTS of upgrades.
houses in my area average 500-700K and that is a normal, single family >2000 square feet.

But I do live in one of the most expensive areas of the country

We also enjoy the strictest smog laws in the nation.
I got failed once for a single small crack in the gasket on my gas cap.
Cost me $15 for a new one.

    OMG!!! Those prices are unreal.

In 2009 my son got (is paying for) his home...3 BR, 2 full baths, great room and enclosed garage in a smallish subdivision for 98K.

Its close to his work and everything. Nice (older) neighbors.

Id do the distant country house only and if only it was as secluded,, but commutes are the issue.
I really like two of the homes we looked at ,, one because its secluded but its a pain in the ass to cross the highway and ya miss the break in the berm and its 1/2 mile up and back to get on the other side.. worried some about traffic noise but its 2miles of woods in the back, neighbors are apart a decent way. its still close to everything here,, but no bus.
and the other house thats close to my work. just the dog next door is a concern. maybe it will get use to us and not bark after a while. I could wooden fence the property line. so far I like the 98K house the most. locked in for 30yrs, Ill be dead anyways..

Some of you guys might cry when you find out what I paid for my house. I live in a very nice area and in a house that was recently almost 100% rebuilt...from the foundation up. It's very low-crime and within walking distance from downtown. It's in the historical area where many houses are very old but in very nice shape. I did buy it nearly 20 years ago so it's worth more now but I didn't pay anywhere close to the prices some of you are talking about. When I moved here...this house cost me $32k...in this neighborhood. But we've probably put around $75k into restoring/rebuilding it. But that's relative. Where I grew up...this house and the cost of remodeling easily would have been 10x higher.

This is part of what keeps me from moving. I grew up in Chicago, I want to move to California but I know the cost is incredible. This house out west probably costs $500k-$750k...minimum. How can you justify that...in a place with no water?

Well, as long as they're not flying north it should not be that disastrous :p

The ones that fly over the Netherlands always make stops in mass quantities to rest on the pastures. When they leave the grass is eaten and the grass that's left for the cows is covered with geese shit. Which in turn has become an excuse to shoot them or if they're lucky just chase them away tired and on an empty stomach :p

They're an awfully bit healthier than pizza too :)

So, yesterday's brushing and burning project tore up my knee pretty bad. Now I'm having to wear my fucking knee brace again. I hate this thing... I actually can't walk without it at the moment though.

Anyways, the brush in this area was that Honey Suckle, (I looked it up, it's called Amur Honey Suckle) and wild Rose... (the thorniest crap on earth) with a healthy dose of Poison Ivy and dotted with baby trees of various types. Kinda interesting cutting the brush without cutting the trees or Poison Ivy. The Ivy I wanted to spray while leafed out to effectively kill and the trees will get sorted out later. To make it more challenging there are two long dead fallen trees in the middle of this mess... BUT 90% of the job is done. After the crap is killed off I'll be able to plant some more desirable woodland plants in this area. It's actually part of my upper front yard that has been left to go to crap, probably after the big tree came down ages ago.

I also took down an old dead pine I had been worried about that had to fall into this mess of brush before it fell by itself into the trees around it. It made a big thump when it landed. As soon as I started notching it with the saw a shit ton of carpenter ants started pouring out of it.... Fucked up their day.

Now, if I can walk, I've gotta get back at it. I've got firewood to bring in, cut/split/stack too.

I stashed a shitload of firewood in the last few days too! Couldn't fit another full wheelbarrow in that pile :D I took a pic of it too but it was with my dads phone. I will post it later.
