I like bats. I only fear them for the rabies they sometimes carry.

 

Weird. I have seen almost every other creature in these woods but no bats......
One house I lived in bats got inside that place...but none here....hmmmm...not that I miss them in the house......

 

just returned from an overnite to Toronto.....i'm nappish....I have many bats living inside my upper soffets [sp.?]


I alo bought bat guano juice this year to tart my plants.......26 dollars for a small jug of oncentrare..its from vampire bats and ts red,,,blood red

lol, I was thinking the same thing..

the radio station does the Tooki tooki bird sound so you can call in and win $94.50 < silly prize but thats the station number on the dial.

 

Just stopped at my local gas station where they have a kitchen and make all kinds of different stuff. On the check-out counter is a tray of cookies. Next to that is a box where they want you to buy cookies and put them in the box to donate them to a local organization that works with mentally handicapped people. Great cause but....it seems to me like, unless you're also donating all of the money from selling the cookies, you might seem slightly more sincere if the store just donates the cookies directly without first profiting from them.

 

Waiting around to take hubby to the hospital. He is awake, could barely make it to the bathroom without falling. He wants to eat when he is done in there.

Now, all he wants to do is to quit shitting and have me help him back to bed. His back hurts from where he fell and he wants to lie in bed and wait for his pain meds to kick in.

He just told his sister, on the phone, that if he went to the hospital tonight he'd have to take an ambulance because he wouldn't be able to walk in.

Jesus, he thinks time is going to make him better?

 

Why am I awake right now? It's about 5:50 am and I have to play a show at noon. I want to go back to sleep. Maybe I will. Coffee doesn't help that happen.

A private thing. Pain in the ass deal. The sound guy wanted to start moving at 8 or 9 but half of us put the stop to that shit pretty quick. We're not setting up the whole system for this. That takes about 2-3 hours to set up and another 2-3 hours to take down. Fuck that. We need two mains and a few monitors and that's it. 20 minutes to set up what we really need. I was actually considering starting a thread on the musicians forum about what it really means to be a professional musician. It's not what many people expect when they start out.

 

sound guys always think they need more gear...its been going on since the invention of sound guys lol...I set upp van halen several times.....sound guy loves those marshall stacks..

 

We used to just plug in and play. You set up in a room and debate who needs to turn down. But you wanted everything....lights, sophisticated sound system, big stages, record on a label, have a real bus (not a van or school bus)...you want to get paid....all that shit. Then you get it. You're a professional and everyone who is anyone on the scene knows who you are. You record in a studio owned by a label. They put out your shit. You don't just play rooms anymore...you measure them...or someone measures them (I don't). Everything is set up a certain way just for that room. Then one day, you realize it's a job...just like being an accountant. You used to party your ass off and just get up there and play. Now....you can still party a bit but it's different. You're being paid for a service and it matters how you do your job.

Then you wish you could just plug in and play again.
