Random Facts 58

Cut up a little bit of firewood today... Not enough to matter much but I guess every little bit is better than none. We better get an early spring. New saw is finally breaking in... This thing flat out screams. (that's a good thing for those that don't know chainsaws)


Now back to the ceiling project.

 

Was hanging out with a Republican (non-douche bag) friend and neighbor of mine earlier. Our kids are also friends and I was pretty happy when he told me that he questioned our daughter (who is 12) about political statements she had made over there and he was impressed with her ability to explain the different candidates positions and why she supports her candidate. He asked her if she was very political. She said she isn't....she just knows a lot about it. She's a smart one!

On a funny note, before he left, I gave him a Bernie "mailer" (I get them in the mail all the time) and told him I'd like him to take it home and consider voting for my guy. It was pretty damn funny if you were there, I guess. He took it with him.

We live about 40 minutes from Des Moines. I think we're going to go downtown this afternoon and check out the madhouse that is happening there right now.

 

But if it's 40 minutes away you won't see the madhouse happening right now...

 

It was pretty busy down there.

 

I don't envy you that.

 

My sons grandparents (on their moms side) celebrated their 63rd anniversary today. That isn't a typo! 63 years! That's almost unheard of.

 

My parents were married 64 years when Mom died in 2008.

 

In the low 60's here today.

 

It's sunny and 67F here. It's supposed to make it to 73F this afternoon. Yay Sunshine!!! :sunny:

 

Sleeting Here And Black as Fuck No reason for me to go out though so its all good :sunny:

 

Peaceful quiet day here and I am enjoying it.

 

one the secretaries asked me to help put up the christmas tree and Im like what, huh xmas tree? then she said its a valentines day tree

oh ok now that makes sense

its actually more pretty than the dec xmas tree , its all white with red bulbs

 

Been playing chess with my daughter this evening. It's nice to have someone to play with. It isn't very challenging for me but it's fun to see her get better at it. I let her win sometimes because nobody likes to lose every time. If she isn't enjoying the game, she might not want to play anymore. But if she enjoys the game and keeps playing until she is better....one day I will have a worthy opponent around all the time.

 

And hearts?

 

no hearts.. just round red bulbs.. red and white garland I thinks thats what its called., the stuff that goes around and around.

for realz, im going to stick the xmas train in my back pack.. :d nobody wants to invest the time to put it together at xmas. its not going to be missed.. /ill juts tell a bitch Im taking this shit home, nobody will care.. lol..
