Back to working on the ceiling today... This is seemingly taking forever.

 

i just see everything as being more about places and cultures, then individual personae and characters.
that's why i'm always either on the computer, making or "playing with" my "trains"(miniature worlds and their infrastructure), reading a book, or going somewhere on a bus(whatever public transit happens to be available), even at times, no place in particular, or any place i'm not yet entirely familiar with(or even some kinds of places when i am, like arboratums, libraries, musiums, places where nature and technology are there together to be played with. i'm like a little kid about that, i know. i find the whole idea of 'parties', where unimaginative people stand around getting mind altered, pointless and boring.)

i don't hate people. i want people to be able to be happy.
i just find them boring as effing hell.

where as places, the design and arrangement of them, whether by nature or sentient intention, endlessly fascinating.

 

Went down to get the wagon load of firewood I had to abandon in the field two days ago, even though it was only 16 degrees out today.


It's supposed to snow tomorrow so I had better get it done today... Or never.



Now, back to the ceiling project.

 

I just had a lawn company come to my door about having lawn care done. It is bloody January. The next time one of them comes to the door I am going to insist that they shovel off my lawn so they can give me an accurate estimate. YUP!

 

Just hand them a shovel and tell them it's $5 to clear the driveway and walk... that's top dollar.

 

I may just do both!

Funny conversation with my daughter this evening over dinner....

Her: Oh...guess what? We played basketball during gym today and I made two baskets!

Me: Congratulations! That's pretty cool!

Her: I think so.....considering how terrible I am at basketball. (She's also pretty small/short)

My wife: How many shots did you take?

Her: 35 or so.

Me: Um...well....that's still pretty good!

I assumed she meant they were playing a game. They weren't. She was just shooting from certain spots.

Fuckin' FedEx... Ordered three items from the same place. Figured it would be two boxes and it was. Both got picked up at the same time. Both left Indiana at the same time. One is in Ohio and the other is WhoKnowsWhereTheFuckIt'sAt.

It's honestly a good thing that I've focused on raising intellectuals instead of athletes.....otherwise I would have failed miserably.

 

to be honest, I'm not sure you can raise athletes if there is no athletic ability.

edit...or intellectuals either for that matter. Without a doubt you have raised kids with the intellectual ability.

I'm thinking the son that works with you HAS to have athletic ability also.

 

That shit is crazy. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense but they basically try to use the Traveling Salesman Equation with a super computer to improve it as much as possible. The mathematical equation is too complicated to actually solve in the time frame they have but they use likely projections and those seem to work.

 

You know...that would be a logical assumption but...no. He is an incredibly crappy athlete. He's a seriously bad motherfucker on guitar though. He should be because I've been teaching him since he was maybe 6 or 7 and he's almost 21 now and has been playing constantly for that entire time. He's good. He's much better than I am.

 

I'm waiting on delivery drones.

Hmm....maybe I shouldn't have said the kid is an "incredibly crappy athlete". It isn't that any of my kids aren't capable of being decent athletes (some people just aren't). They're capable of doing it. It's more that they just don't care to participate......even a little bit. I don't think they care about competing.

And now that I've typed that out....it occurs to me that it even carries over to what my daughter wants to wear.

 

Early this afternoon Erin was sitting on her perch by the window. Just as I was walking into the room I heard this thump on the glass and Erin squawked. The Red Tailed Hawk thought he was gonna have crow for dinner... Kinda shook him up when he hit that invisible force field. He shook it off and flew away in about a minute. Damned big bird he is.
