I have email contact with the lady that grew up in this house. She has the original article that photo came from. I have a scan of that article which has several photos and does state the architect's name, but I haven't contacted that family yet... His studio (architect) still exists under the family's care. Not as a functioning business, but in museum quality. They may have more info, or this may be one of his "lost" projects. Either way it's something I need to track down.


I did score the original blueprints about a year ago from a different source... On the back of one of those prints is a hand drawn layout of the master bedroom suite which was added in 1960. I also have the "white print" of that extension. (white prints replaced blueprints for some uses around that time) Some of this will get copied and framed for hanging on the wall.

 

Very cool! Always nice to know the history.

We put in a 2000w inverter and a freeze plug block heater. I did some checking on the message boards related to our line of work. Apparently, that is a very common thing to do in our industry. I've never heard of anyone doing it though. And here I thought I might have a cutting edge idea.....

getting some pretty strong winds tonight....we are under a high wind warning

 

It's windy here.

Up north, y'all are going to be blasted by that polar vortex.

Our high temp for the week will be 55F on Thursday, as predicted.

 

I read somewhere today that with the Powerball where it is right now.....you are now more likely to be struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark than you are to win the Powerball.

I rarely buy tickets. It's fun to think about winning though.

It's single digit temps with 25mph winds now...

 

stop complaining...my car is unusable right now because the brake switch is frozen and there is no interlock bypass...and it has to be accessed by going under the car ...did i mention the blizzard?

i gave up on the small truck after warming it up a bit...the ice on the windows is too thick and i didnt have the patience plus the fuel is so low i dont want to idle it much...its a mess here today


also had 2 earthquakes ...but only felt one of them

I've almost judged the carpet as being alright...I think (desperately hope) that I avoided a catastrophe/disaster with the carpet by the space of the diameter of a hair. Its just sort of damp in a couple of spots and I've literally stuck my face down in the carpet and smelled.

Now that I have this shop vac I'm gonna do all kinds of vacuuming...well, that's my intention anyway.

I'm so tired and wiped out, I'm going to try to go to sleep. That's usually when its the hardest so if I'm posting at 3am or so, it'll be no surprise to me. lol
