dude you were way more civil than I would have been with my brother


my little bro lives right in my house...i'm way tougher verbally on him....sometimes too blunt for my own good

 

I'm a little more mellow with age but even more direct. I can't convey tone of voice in type but I wasn't nice. He used to work for me about 12-13 years ago. We can't work together. After one of his last arguments with me on the jobsite....I drove him outside of town while he was still talking shit on the way. He got out of the truck and I basically throat-dropped him and asked if he had anything else he wanted to say to me. He didn't have much to say after that but...thankfully...we haven't worked together for years and now my son is my "right hand man". My son is more interested in learning the job than he is in trying to tell me how it should be done. He's a great person.

On a side note....I've very happy that my kid gets to spend so much time with me and maybe see things being done quietly to help others....like getting a mower for some stranger. That's the person I hope he becomes in this world.

I wouldn't go that far with my brother but ...it's like...how do you not have your shit together by now? I want the best for him but he just doesn't listen to logic and reason. He's got the life he lived so far.
