Damn Y'all...I have to work on the kitchen sink.

Years ago we bought a replacement sink. Hubby didn't want to mess with tightening the clips under the sink. He didn't even caulk it.

Now, the sink has walked around, the edges of it are rusted, the counter top edge is disintegrating, and the pipes are leaking.

When we replaced the sink, there was a pipe just a bit too short so I've been propping up the p-trap with a jar.

The sink starting falling in on the back corner so i definitely had to lift it and move it around a little.

    Now the pipes are leaking.

Jesus Christ. Hubby is going to have a shit fit when he wakes up from his nap.

RF: Just came inside from the back deck. My wife isn't home and my daughter told me that someone came to the front door a few minutes ago.

    Me: Who was it?
Her: Someone selling something or maybe doing surveys.
Me: Did you see what they were selling?
Her: Nope. I just told them you weren't here because I knew you wouldn't want to be bothered by them.
    Me: Good girl!

    :)

So, essentially, I have to replace the crappy old kitchen sink with it's crappy old self before the grumpy old man wakes up.

If he freaks out, you should tell him it wouldn't be like that if he had done it right the first time. Totally his own fault.

That's exactly what I am going to tell him.

He can live without the kitchen sink for a night. I'm probably going to have to go get some stuff at Lowe's tomorrow.

I've turned the water off and I'm getting ready to disconnect the drain pipes.

I'm going to lift the sink out, clean the counter top, find the dremel and wirebrush, clean up the edges of the sink, put down some silicon (if we have it; if not I'll stop for the night), set the sink back in, see if the clips are anywhere under there, fix them if they are, and find the caulking strip we bought but never installed years ago; I'll try to hook the drain pipes back up but I may have to go buy a section to correct that short piece that's had the jar propping it up.

    I'm not stupid or lazy.

I just have a knee that needs to be replaced.

your drains will have compression fittings. the p-trap and pieces going to that can be adjusted and tightened by hand .. may need a hacksaw for length.

Yeah, Ori the straight piece between the drain and the p-trap has always been a bit too short.

Now, I have to put up a piece of wood where the back edge of the counter top would normally hold the sink. Because of no caulking, water has eaten away the particle board that is supposed to be under the counter top laminate. There is nothing to hold the back of the sink up. That's why if fell in.

We've got wood around here and I think there is a charge on the screwdriver. I hope there is because the cats chewed through the charger cord and hubby hasn't replaced it or spliced it back together.

I have to locate wood screws. I hope they weren't in the box of screws that daughter borrowed.

I have 8foot that sink top stuff in my basement as a walkway. I should of saved it for the other kitchen. but that was never the plan. the plan double the size this single picture .. maybe more possible now, after decks are all done... to much pain to continue right now. some the hardest part of the front porch now, installing the post to keep the roof up. nice my friends come around with the frame. but its going to take 2 people and jacks to get the best placements for post and to be solid ..

    Under sink.jpg

Here's a pic of what is supposed to support the back of the sink, laying in the bottom of the cabinet.

back sink.jpg This is a crappy pic because I couldn't see what was in the viewfinder, but the green is the wall, then the back splash, and the naked lip where I'm supposed to sit a sink.

His alarm went off. Maybe he will oversleep.

Now, I have to take a flashlight into the laundry room to find the screws because he hasn't replaced the ceiling fixture, and scoot the door out of the way to get to the shelves because the door has been hanging by only the bottom hinge for about a year.

its a home depot lego set /$4000.00 minus appliances ..
I want to do the railroad tie ceder beams for support between the two kitchens to make one large one. the other side is gutted already. but Im stuck with other shit, and not sure Im putting in sliding door and eliminating a window to the right> the window you see in the picture would be higher than the current one, so the outside needs cosmetic work too .. if im able to keep this job it will be no problem to pay for.. but my job is hard. its not my forte, only information I retained today was blue marker, red marker.. lol

Maybe you're brain will work better when you get your shoulder iced and stuff.

Okay, support board installed. Support sink.jpg

I found a tub of plumbers putty. Can I use that as caulk between sink and counter top when I drop the sink?

Also, I have no idea what to do about this rust damage. Should I attempt to clean it up with the wire brush or leave it as it is?

I went to wake hubby because he overslept by 45 mins. Don't want him to get behind on medication for gods sake.

    Karma is kind of awesome.

One of his favorite feather pillows got knocked off his head while he was sleeping. It is sitting, saturated, in a puddle of piss because his night drainage bottom also got knocked over.

I told him that the sink was torn apart too.
