It is a good thing when you hit the point in life when you know what you will not tolerate as far as how you are treated. I like that!

 

I was thinking of going out and pulling some weeds, opened the patio door and closed it again. It is already 31C out there with the humidity, the weeds can continue to grow for the day.

Probably tomorrow as well as they are calling for 41C with the humidity. I am not playing in that.

I wanted to fulfill Rollin's request for the color coordinated pic from the pirate ship ride but the girl who schemed that whole thing up, bailed on us and didn't go so that pic really didn't happen.

at least it actually rained today complete with lightning and thunder, first time in many months.
rather refreshing

it is pretty amusing to watch a big, strong and well muscled, intimidating looking dog go running into the house tail between his legs when he hears thunder...LOL

I will if I can find something. There were tons of people with phones in the air. I'm exhausted right now. Way too much fun and way too much beer. We haven't even started tearing stuff down yet. We didn't have coffee this morning so we were sitting around the fire in our camping section drinking IPA's at 8 am and discussing our event for the fall. I think maybe we will just go with 7 or 8 bands this fall.

We have some tough decisions to make before the fall festival. We've never had a security presence and we don't want it. I am the person who basically handles any issues because nobody else wants to feel like a prick and...to be honest....our lead singer and I are almost revered by these young people so I don't really have to be mean to get them in line. We know there are a lot of drugs and even more booze but we have to draw a line somewhere because we are ultimately liable for this shit. It's already a free-for-all but some things need to stay kind of discrete. The older people know this. The kids push the line. There was one younger guy who had a keg yesterday. That isn't a problem except for he told some of our people that he was planning on selling beer (mostly to minors presumably). I found him and told him and all of his friends "Hey.....I'm glad you guys are here. I want you to have a good time. We try to be open-minded and the keg is fine but...you have to understand....the police WILL be here and they will be looking for anything illegal. We don't want problems. Everything is cool right now but if I find out that you guys are selling beer or giving beer to minors...the next conversation we have will be me telling you to pack it up and leave...even if it's at 11 pm. I don't want to be like that but that will be our next conversation about this."

Our drummer was like "Dude...I'm so glad you're here to deal with this shit because someone has to lay down the law!" My bandmates are a fairly non-confrontational bunch. I don't give a shit....I'll say what needs to be said to these kids or anyone else who may disrupt our events.

 

And I'll say something else about last night.....it was a rager...as always but when we woke up this morning....there was a massive clean-up effort underway. It was like people just woke up and started cleaning shit up. Last night, the camping area was full, the parking area was so packed that cars had to just park in the driving lanes...there was simply no more room. Today when I left....it was almost spotless. It looked like it never happened. I have to give those young people a lot of credit for that (mostly because the older people didn't make a mess of everything but the younger crowd took care of cleaning up after themselves).

 

My daughter and I helped clean up the beach. They have a leave no trace ordinance from 7pm to 7am.

It was 11 at night and the cops came by with a truck full of canopy tents. They gave the one couple still with their tent a few minutes to take it down. We helped another guy take down a tent belonging to a mother with a small baby. There were two tents left so we took them down and brought them home yesterday. They are 10 x 10.

They are what everyone, who has a spare $100 bucks, or whatever they cost, brings to the all day ball tournaments; now, we have one each and don't have to feel so poor and trashy! lol

Really, hubby and I need one and you'd be surprised at the people who will let two "old", obviously suffering, grandparents sit out in the 90 degree sun all day without sharing shade with you.

 

You can share some shade with me any time!

 

RF: It's about 9 pm and I am fucked up. Maybe even still fucked up from yesterday...I've been at it for a while. I slept earlier and was sober enough to drive to a friends place to hang out. I think it will be an early night for me. I'm ready for bedski now. I must be getting old.

 

If it means anything im a little fucked up.. it's not to late tho. at the Berlin always getting buzzed..
