How does one become that expert?

 

probably by falling down without killing yourself a bunch of times, and knowing (the road/path/trail) where you are real real well.

true. the suzuki 125 i had back in 76 looked a lot like that. the tail wasn't as advanced, but otherwise, a fairly generic look for bikes of that class and range.
the only thing i wish is that i could get an electric one that was completely quiet, so i could ride it out in the woods without scaring everything away.
