How can anything be cheaper than Ramen Noodles? I bought a box the other day of like 100 packs for 5 bucks. And it's Ray-mon. Anything else is just plain Stoopid.
While it's nice to sing the praises of Ramen Noodles this is the third thread on the subject within the last year Hotwater
I have always pronounced it RAHMAN. And yes they are the shit. I posted a thread about how good they are less than a week ago. Of course I was highly buzzed, ate some and talked about em like they were some sort of god. Beef flavor is the best I think. I bought a whole case of 100 of them for 10 bucks a couple months ago. i still have about 60 left. Not bad if I say so myself.
I just realized that I don't say ray-mon at all, I say Rah-men. I don't know what the fuck I was thinking. So is rah-men a long or short a? I wanna vote
I pronounce it with the long 'a' and in Dutch [useless random fact]'ramen' literally means 'windows'.[/useless random fact]
We say the 'a' in ramen as in 'baah'. Now you know that too and you will pronounce it right if you ever visit the beautiful Netherlands and need to say ramen.
Ramen is a spectroscopic method for surface analysis. When a laser is bounced off of an object, most of this light is reflected is unchanged, however, a small proportion of the beam interacts with molecules in the material and is scattered. The scattered portion of light is collected such that each material has a unique spectrum associated and thus acts as a fingerprint to identify materials.
The noodle dish is pronounced Rah-Myon in Korea where much of it is made. The Chinese stuff is made by slave labor in prison factories and is ethically unsound. I only eat it when I'm hiking. It's good with some brewer's yeast and dehydrated veggies.
Rah-men Short A The food is Asian, and that's how I always hear people from Asian countries saying it.
we just had a nice quick lunch. we made a ginger/sesame/peanut sauce blend and steamed up some asian-style veggies over some ramen. light, tasty, filling. i agree, you gotta buy the good noodles.
