You can definitely try to smoke and do stand-up. You wouldn't be the first one to do that. Just find the acombination that works for you.

Delivery is important part of stand-up. The calmer you look/behave the better. If you feel anxious and it is visible, people watching you will also feel anxious.

If you worry a lot about forgetting your material, bring a piece of paper with topics written on it. It is better to take a look at it during the show, than to just stand there and say nothing. Plus even if you won't look at it it will give you more confidence.

Try improvising, if you think about something funny while doing stand-up, don't hesistate to speak about it, even if it wasn't planned in your routine.

If you like doing it, do it. No one became famous first time they went on stage, it takes practice and experience.

You might want to find a partner and be a comedy team with someone. It would prolly help with the anxiety and you could bounce lines off one another, something that is lacking in solo work like so many people today are doing.

Comedically, who do you admire from the UK from the 80s onwards?

The only criticism I would have is that you are too nervous, so it seems like you are reading from a tele-prompter that's out of focus and moving a little slow.

If you are a nervous anxiety ridden person, have you ever worked that (rhythm or content) into your act?

Woody was in England filming "Casino Royale" when he guested on a British TV show. He finished his set with his "moose" routine,

I can't critique too much because I'd have never have made it to the stage in the first place.

Cannabis increases my social anxiety and awkwardness ten-fold. I would have a hard time getting onstage as it is, much less after smoking weed. After 4 or 5 shots of vodka, maybe I could pull it off.

She does seem a bit nervous, though I think I would be even more so if I were onstage.

    Hello,

well, I had a laugh or two, that's all I can say. I like it ;).

RT should generate material without end I guess. The educational part of HF, the L&S section, might be even better to get some stories ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

We could start a Hip Forums Comedy Club with public performances. Skip would get a portion of the proceeds, of course. The rest could be divided between the writers and performers.

    See, I've got ideas.

    Hello,

I thought HF is a comedy club .

I'm not sure if Skip is happy with that idea. But it sounds promissing. How about spending the rest of the proceeds into booze for the audience?

    Regards
