Rain and sunshine She is the rain, thundering down, The sharp will of gravity dragging her to earth, Wrenching her from the clouds And spattering her hopes upon the street. In droplets she falls, streaming like tears down the glass, Moistening the eyes of the child in the yard, Acidic, poisonous washing away beauty and truth, Exposing the world of its hypocrisy and deceit. Bitter, twisted, a medley of hurt and pain, Anger and hatred burn within every acidic drop, The lies, the wrongs of mankind seep sorrowfully through her storms, With her tears she weaves a tale of lost love and despair. Longing night and day, for the sunshine,:sunny: The glittering, sparkling flame to light her world, Transforming her anger to love, Her hatred to beauty, Incomplete she thunders alone, Waiting for his warm rays to dry her tears of bitterness and treachery, Completing her life, so drenched in emptiness, Restoring our war-stricken world to hope again, Illuminating our worthless lives, As the rain and the sunshine meet, As the tears of society are dried, As the rainbow spreads peace over the land. :rainbow:
i like it... the title drew me in rain is the best and i really like how you personified it, or should i say her.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Living in Manchester we get a lot of acid rain. I hate it. It poisons everything, trees, rivers and fish. I always thought how heartless and cold it can be. Then my friend Lizzie told me I should write about a rainbow. I started to think about how you need both rain and sunshine to make something beautiful. It's a bit like people really. As for who she is...I'll leave you to decide.
Thanks Dinky. You sound quite poetic yourself. That last sentance was beautifully phrased. Peace to you and all your kind.
