alright, today is wednesday, and monday i bought some smoked trout. it's in a vacuum sealed unopened plastic bag. now, it was refrigerated in the store, but i put it in my backpack. it's been in there at room temp since monday when i got it (3 dayz ago) remember it's smoked so it's already cooked, and it's in an unopened package vacuum sealed. should i eat it? think it's still good, or am i gonna get sicker than hell?
Eat a little of it and see if it makes you sick . I remember this lady that had a smoked salmon that was shipped at room temp. It was smoked and salted so it would not spoil . desert rat
no top ramen. cant make that, plus i hate ramen noodles anymore. well i opened it up, smelled ok. ate some of it, then threw the rest to the birds.
I'm pretty sure that your fish is fine. Smoking the fish is a preserving method used back in the days before refrigeration. Esp. I it has not been opened it really should be OK. I have a really good smoked fish dip recipe if your interested - or just enjoy it like it is!
Um, you live where? http://beforeitsnews.com/environmen...shing-up-on-east-florida-beaches-2299063.html
So apparently it was ok and you still threw it away?? People like you should be sentenced to on year in Somalia.
nah im fine, and they are too, these park ducks/ibexes will eat food with their own feces on it, and not think twice about it. on thanxgiving we had a big turkey, ate most of it, then threw the carcass to the ibexes, man that was a fricking free-for-all
if in doubt, cook the hell out of it, and eat it while its still hot. also, anything in a sealed package, well generally, if its starting to turn, it will out-gas within the package forcing the package to warp or fail, so if the package has bulged away from the contents, or developed leaks with no other reason for doing so, then don't trust it. most sickness causing stuff can be killed by cooking until the internal temperature is high enough. a good meat thermometer can be a life, or at lest sickness, saving investment.
smoked trout is good for exactly 7 years and 11 months. so you have a little over a month to eat it, otherwise it's probably about time to give it to the dogs.
depends how sensitive you are to food. Somethings that are kind of on the way out can make some people sick and others not. But if your primal instinct to throw it away doesn’t kick in it’s probably still edible. If it doesn’t taste good, don’t continue eating. Simple
