questionable night advice please

so i went to a buddys house. walked quite a while. its been years since i saw him. greeted him and good to see him although hes a shady character to say the least. i asked for water as i was tired and he said hes going to grab money to buy something at the store. he was taking a looooong time as i was waiting on the porch. so i ended up climbing a tree to hide from him and suprise him. in the tree for at least ten minutes id say. then he comes out and calling my name got confused funny to watch. then he was going back in and me hollared to let him know i was there. he said oh heres your water. this is where it ges weird. it was open in a sprite bottle. me being real thirsty drank a big gulp and it tasted kinda funny. i asked what it was he said just water. well we go to bar and get drinks. and hes being real particular about drinking them and with the cups. and wouldnt share any until the water was drank.... well we were listening to music catching up. and started to drink. sorry im rambling. eventually he gave me another sprite bottle with water and pills like gabapentin propranolol. dont quite remember everything but i did make it home and was shaking in the morning. and my girlfriend stopped talking to me.... cuz i told her " bitch call me right now"
"im with so and so drunk asf and hes trying to get up my ass" i apologised and the next day recooperated. did he drug me i mean i wanted to drink and shouldnt have taken the pills but wanted to. is there possibly something in the water like laced? lyke why would i text her that?? and now i can tell shes upset and feel strange about my friend....

 

it sounds like a possibility.

not sure what advice could be given, other than don't drink suspicious water from people you consider shady characters.
