    May always be debated, but consider influences? John Cippolina sounded a lot like like Jorma Kaukonan - who influenced whom the most? Garcia also also used the tremolo sound a lot. Thoughts? Tracing stylistic influences would be an interesting project.

    this works here. Cippolina played in one of my fave bands: Zero, and he was in JGB.
    You are talking about guys who played together, so I'd not call one an influence, per se.
    more like swapping licks and tricks. and possibly tools such as effects pedals, string thickness and composition and what kind of amplifier.
