    it is a metaphor. the use of present tense indicates that it is not an actual happening, if he "saw a couger jump a deer and go to town" then, he would be more likely to be suggesting he had seen it.

    as a present tense it falls into the realm of metaphorical hyperbole. especially as it is a fairly rare thing to actually see.

    you suggested, that since he was using a cougar's behavior as a model, he should follow through "you should also kill all threatening males. have sex by force and be shot and skinned by hunters who want a jacket. pure logic."

    you brought up mating habits, as we were discussing cougars, it would only be relevant or rational to reference the behaviors of cougars, now, if you had wanted to reference another creature, it might have been a wise decision to make that clear, instead of making yourself look like a fool. in a forum which, historically, has not been known for it's sufferance of fools.
