I think where I'm getting the mix up is in college we are taught that there is a certain and definite fluidity to your sexual identity. I don't think that precludes a discussion of sexual orientation reliant on being born with it per se. But I do realize there are fluid elements to sexual identities, as well as the more concrete.

One thing I'm very skeptical of though is anyone who claims that sexual orientation is biological. I doubt that's the case. They have looked and looked to try and find the "gay" gene. Tried and failed. I doubt that exists. If there is a biological component I suspect it's hormonal or something; something less detectable than an allele or a gene or whatever the term would be. Chromosome... I don't know.

EDIT: I just read something in the NYT saying it's actually a combination of many genes that are responsible for a third of sexual identity or something...
