Question about girlfriend getting raped when she was younger

I wasn’t sure about what section to post this in so I’ll post it here.


Me and my girlfriend been together 3 years. Yesterday she told me she was raped by 4 men in a car. The man was trying to talk to her at first. He then pulled out a gun and told her to get in the car. They took her to a apartment and forced her to give them oral sex. She said they then dropped her back off by her house. We are both 34. This happened to her when she was 18 living with her grandmother. She didn’t tell her family about it.

She told me about this story recently. She had told me before that she got raped but never told me the actual details until I asked last month. She seemed uncomfortable talking about it. About 20 minutes she seemed real horny and wanted to have sex. It made me wonder if she is turned on and at the same time hurt about what happened to her. I brought up the story again purpose and a few hours later she was really horny and wanted to have sex

even when we a movie or tv show and if a woman is getting raped she be smiling. I would’ve thought it would had a negative being that it happened to her when she was 18.

Can anyone offer their thoughts on this

 

I don't mean to sound callous, but I think you should try to get your girlfriend to see a therapist as soon as possible. Rape victims, especially those for whom the rapist(s) were never punished, or even caught, frequently develop warped concepts of self-worth and can even come to believe that being raped is the only "right way" to have sex. So, therapist, soon.

 

I agree with the above poster. Something about this doesn't sit.t right with me . The normal reaction if there is a "normal" one is to be the oppsosite. Ie. reluctant to have sex especially in this case with a male partner as it will usually trigger negative flashbacks and therefore taking things slowly would normally help . But this situation seems to be the opposite which tells me something isn't quite right and I think assistance by a third party is needed here .

 

Yep, agree with both respondents here. I also think maybe we're not getting the whole story from her.

 

She’s actually bi polar and suffers from depression too. She was born that way. Mother was mentally ill too and didn’t raise her. She already sees a therapy for her mental health condition.

I asked her if she ever mentioned this to any of her therapist and she said no. She said she didn’t tell her family because they wouldn’t of believed her.


@angela what do you mean by “we’re not getting the full story from her”. It happened around 11pm she said. The guy in the car was talking and I guess flirting. He then pulled out a gun and told her to get in the car or he gonna shoot her. She got in the car and they took her to an apartment. The guy told her to give all 4 of them oral sex or he gonna kill her.

she said after it happened they drove her home. She said she took a shower afterwards and just put it behind her and didn’t tell anyone. It happened when she was 18. She’s in her 30s now so it was long ago.

I just don’t know why she got horny 20 mins later after telling me this story. Like I said before I brought this story up again and a few hours later she got horny. I found that to be odd too but they say everyone has different reactions to rape

 

My wife was raped 2 times as a teenager. She has carried a gun ever since. But all her life she has fantasies of being gently gang fucked by huge cocks over and over. Don't know if the rape did it but it is what it is. The mind is an interesting thing.
