I will make resevations for 12 people for the friday night cruise and for 12-14 on the queensday cruise. we might have the daytripper for ourselves friday night and just go with the flow on queensday. I'll make sure we have full control of the tunes James....don't want you having a stroke with an overload of techno.....LOL

 

Might I interest anyone in a pool tournament? My friend Nol Van Schaik is putting on an international pool tournament in Haarlem while we are all there in April. It will be great fun and not on a set schedule, so you can go and play when you have time. Maybe we could get a group together and bike over, or take the train if you'd rather. I was going to do a day trip to haalem anyways, so count nancy and myself in sinpusher. can we get some bikes and check out the tulip fields sinpusher? do you know the area that well to do that? would like to get some great pics during blooming time. we did it last year on a tour and it was awesome.


when did they get rid of the pool table at the de kuil?

koopa: got ya listed for both cruises, will keep you in the loop when I get more finalized plans with the daytripper crew. this will be a queensday to remember for sure, actually they all are but they just get better and more interesting. are you down for both cruises sinpusher? and will you be having guests? let me know ahead of time to give Joeri some numbers so we can get some prices...was only 50 euros a piece last year for 3-4 hours and free beer....can't beat that with a (thai)stick.

 

Yes I can show you some tulip fields on the way to Haarlem via fiets. We pass a couple of windmills on the way too, lol. It's a nice ride only about an hour from say Umma Gumma on Haarlemerstraat to Indica in Haarlem. Nol and staff are great hosts and will show us all a great time. Save some money for bulk purchases of primo gear too. He will hook us up. I have partied here a few times over the last couple of years and I can tell you it will be great.

I would be good for one cruise, and I will be by myself, so put me down for the 29th I guess. Some friends have a voonbooten and it will be a primo spot as well for Qday.

I've traveled outside of a-dam many times but never to any coffeeshops. I've always heard rumors that the gear outside of the city center is stronger / and or better.

What has been your experience?

 

Quality is more consistant for sure. And the prices are lower, but it would be a stretch to say stronger. For example, Willie Wortals is currently stocking REAL Napalese Temple ball hash. You probably wont find that in Amsterdam. I really like the red lebanese from T'huis in Haarlem too. My all time favorite smoke is "Crystal" from coffeeshop "Life" in Beverwijk. Power Plant and Power Sticky are two great ones from the WW shops, but their NYCD is nothing to pass over either.

Stick with me and I will show you where the good shit is. In and out of Mokum.

 

sounds like a plan captain! i have found real temple ball in a-dam 1 time and 1 time only....way back in 1998. my major complaint with the bud in the dam has always been the subpar taste/curing of gear

 

Make that lctricity+2 for Queensday and lctricity+1, possibly 2 for Queensnight.

In terms of the pool table removal at De Kuil, I believe it went down last Fall. Could always head over to La Canna and their pool tables, lol. Just make sure to bring your own stash and a wad of euros. I hear the "Purple Haze" is pretty good. Koopa?

Pool table or not, there are some grande times to be had at the 'ol Meet this year. Any of you fellow Hipsters out there who ain't signed up yet... Get On IT!

Haarlem is a great time too, and highly (all puns intended) recommended. As is the jaunt to the beach at Zandvoort if you happen to be over that way and the weather is nice. Only a 10 min. train ride from Haarlem, probably an hour tops by bike.

Glad to hear plans for the Queens Day 2006 Bash to end all Bashes is progressing nicely. Count me in for the cruise on Saturday. I'm also down for a trip to the beach and Harleem. I'm not a big pool buff so cue me out of the tournament but I like the vibes a pool table adds to the atmosphere. As long as there are good tunes I'm in.

Don't forget to send me your Official Tie-Dye De Kuil T-shirt order forms, so far I have orders for about 6 shirts, I'll be placing the T-shirt order at the end of February. Just PM with an e-mail address and I'll send you the form.

 

I'm sure you got my order, will probably grab some more. great to have you along on some day trips....nancy and I are considering daytrips to the haag/beach area, haarlem, utrecht in the netherlands, antwerp, brussels in belguim and cologne in germany. were getting a benelux eurail pass and we get to use it on 5 days to anywhere in those countries. anybody want to do a daytrip to germany for a few beers?.....LOL

hey ispica: us piggy americans LOVE those german beers, so much better than the so-called beer here in the states or canada for that fact.....they are no joke....makes those beers they sell in amsterdam look like shot glasses. Were going again in 2007, you'll have to check it out.
