Its Friday 4/28 I believe. Would be great to meet and say wuz up. This is 4 for me, cant wait. The meet up should be great, 05 was a blast. Plan to make this a once a year vacation for the next 5 yrs.

Yeah, what's up with that? Mostly American's in Hip Forums? Or mostly Americans in this particular forum? Or just American's last year? I notice the back says "we're back". So they are just for the group that met last year then? Just trying to understand. Are you throwing it in the locals face's that you are american pigs? Does De Kuil pay for the shirts, or just get the free advertising?

both of you have to calm down.....
a. we started this hip forums meet last year and as it turns out only americans showed interest with over 15 of us meeting up.
b. we choose de kuil as a meeting spot for it's location, size, they sell beer, pool table and music. your probably thinking because it's owned by an american...not. De Kuil probably don't even know about hipforums.com, They don't pay for the shirts and if we give them a little advertising on the shirts....so what. We just adopted the place plain and simple.
c. as far as hip forums is concerned and this thread, no it's not mostly americans but it seems only americans leave replys or are interested in meeting during the week of queensday.
d. the "piggy americans" was just a phrase and it's in reference to us (americans) making fun of americans (ourselves)......you know....gas guzzlers, super size everthing and the fact that there is so many fat sloppy americans here in the states. We were amazed that we couldn't find any fat people in Amsterdam (except for some semi-plump yanks) so we started calling each other "piggy americans" and it just took on a life of it's own. Totally nothing against the locals or anyone else except US!!
d. we would love to have other nationalities to party with us....it has always been an open invitation to all.
e. swaz, you don't have to wear the t-shirt and maybe we should of added the union jack or dutch colors but like I said....only americans attended the meet last year and it's looking like that again this year except for you......not interested in babysitting us anymore?? Now if we get some brits attending we can always adjust the 2007 t shirts according to who attended this year. Maybe it's not to late to add a union jack but no brits showed up last year. boy that pres. Bush even has our brits hating us......I believe none of us voted for him. I have more to say.....but I'll let some other attendees from last year speak up.....I gotta go to work now......calm down...

"Calm down" ? I couldnt give a shit about the shirts to be honest, was just pointing out the fact that they were a bit American, which seemed odd when you were trying to get as many nationalities there as poss.
Now im gonna look a right **** being the odd one out of a group of 15+ yanks sporting bright orange tie dye shirts, haha.

And ispica, I better add that the shirts do look good, so fair play for that, just next year lets stick the cross of St George on it somewhere eh...

Excellent points concerning the shirts. The design was really a collabrative representation of last years group, which was primarily Yanks. I don't think you need to be an American to wear one, in fact I bet there are a lot of Americans who would object to Uncle Sam being portrayed as a pig....likewise I bet there are a lot of non Americans who would love to sport a shirt portraying Uncle Sam as a pig.

Personally I'd love to see more like minded chaps from around the globe joining tye-dye De Kuil Krui, but I wouldn't want to group them all under the banner of the "Piggy Americans" theme.

If we get a more international crowd this year then next years shirt should have another theme that includes everyone (while still being in bad taste).

Let's kick the idea around at this years De Kruil summit.

I'd just like to add that the new shirts are still kickass inspite of the fact that they're politically incorrect. To me that is the sheer charm of them and the "true spirit" of why we meet in the first place last year.

I gaurantee no one from last years' Krue would ever "shove" anything in any locals face, outside of a vapo bag or two. That person being me.

Hopefully all the questions have been answered and points taken so we can get on with enjoying what is sure to be a helluva grande time. I sincerely hope to see some other nationalities represented this year.

All that aside; Don't forget that the HIP Forums Queensday Cruise is a "Rock N' Roll" ONLY affair! If it ain't rockin' then don't bother knockin', or bitchin' about it after the fact.

 

no offense taken sinpusher, we put the "were back" on the shirts I guess simply because were back in our beloved city of amsterdam.....but swasw it does sound like you gotta take it easy dropping "F" bombs and such, of course reading it always makes it sound worse, either way we'll slap a big ole cross of st george next year if ya show up....I was counting someone too keep an eye over us and too keep me out of trouble, god knows I need that sometimes especially when those shrooms come in too play.

I will not be able to make it for Queensday but will be intown from the 16th of April to the 22nd. My daugher is coming with me this time and its aspring break thing. The tee shirts are great! Can I get one? Any one in town on these dates I may see at the 420 Channels party at DeKuil/420 Cafe.
