Quantum computing trade-off problem addressed by new system (msn.com) This is exactly the kind of thing Intel wants to do with their newest extreme ultraviolet light lithography, to put at least 3,000 qubits on a chip. They really want a million, but they're not going to tell anyone if they can already put that many on a chip, while putting up to 3,000 alone for others to play with, will guarantee they own the market. Microsoft may want to apply this same strategy to their topological quantum computers and, between the two of them, they will rule the computing world. Too bad, my own work is about to cut into business-as-usual. All the quantum computers in the world, cannot save the Pentagon from their own more mindless bullshit.
