Olympics are awesome.......

 

LOL I don't know. It just seems like you have a negative opinion about everything.

Except Star Trek or Star Wars or whichever. I recall you being excited about the new movie and after I jokingly called you a nerd you were saying something about being out in front of the cinema hours early or some such.

But still, dude, you're grumpy about so many things. You and Pressed Rat. You guys need a hug or something.

 

I secretly suspect that VG is a fun guy to hang out with in real life, and that the bitter disenchanted armchair psychologist version of him is just a special treat for all of us HFers <3. Or that he says here what he really wishes he could say in real life.

 

Couldn't agree more. Because despite him being a negative nelly, he is still incredibly likable.

 

I loved the ceremony on friday night.

I love watching these events:
Biathlon (gold metal win Arnd Peiffer)

Downhill and combined skiing (crossing fingers for Lindsey Vonn & Mikaela Shiffrin)

Freestyle skiing

Cross country skiing (gold metal Simen Hegstad Krueger awesome win from last place to first to take the gold)

Snowboarding (Gold metal win Red Gerard)

Luge (Silver medal win Chris Mazdzer )
Skeleton
Figure skating

The women's free skating or long program is my favorite out of the figure skate competition. The elegance mixed with sometimes very emotional music has gotten me teary eyed in past Olympics.

This song has been used many times and still gets me when I hear it played as I watch. The feeling is magnified when a metal is won for that program and this music.

 

i love luge and bobsled, i guess because they're techno looking kinds of things.
its the summer olympics that are boring to me.
because there's nothing interesting there to see.
just a bunch of damd humans.
i mean i'm sure they're great people,
but all that physical stuff is just so much so what.

I call it insight. VG might be full of sarcasm but a lot of times he's just right on the money

 

What I want to know is how the fuck did Curling become a sport?

Winter Olympics are better than the normal Olympics.

 

No one believes that not even someone from a country that traditionally lives, eats, and breathes winter sports

The field events, swimming, and gymnastics, during the summer olympics far outweigh any winter sport other than figure skating.

Last Summer Olympics, the sport I really got into was the Rugby 7s, womens as much as mens, as I'm sure most of oceania did as well, hope they keep that in there.

But yeah, theres a shitload more to watch in the Summer Olympics

 

Coming 28th is apparently Australias best ever result in the mens luge
