    Hi

I know there has been many posts on actual poppy opium vs semi-synthetics. But I however want to know the more subtle details. I am visiting a friend who married a Iranian woman and use opium in some ritualistic manner. I want to try it but I dont know the subtle difference between it and a hard pharmaceutical. I do know oxycodone, morphine and the like are all derived from one chemical or another from the plant so I cannot imagine it to be too different from actual opium just stronger or weaker. I basically am curious to know how close the actual buzz is to a Percocet. Before I try any substance I have never done before I like to get all the subtle info I can from first hand accounts, so I know what I am getting into.
I have chronic pain from being injured in action and have a long running script for Percocet. My body and mind tolerate Percocet very well....with no negative after effects. Also only ONE 5mg pill is all I need for the day. I never like to get wasted just a nice buzz. So what are the subtle differences between opium strait from the pod and a Percocet 5mg?

this is all I know so far:
-opium does not hit your body as hard as a semi, but the effects are much cleaner and identical to a semi-synthetic (happy, warm buzz)
-Percocet has a more subtle energizing effect while opium has a more subtle relaxing effect
-someone described an opium buzz as more of the feeling like "when you are a child and go to Disney land for the first time with body relaxation.....you dont hallucinate per se but everything you experience is happy, wonderful and a bit magical almost like a very very good dream. But semi-synthetics give you the same thing but more body hit and less mind hit"
-opium gives you the feeling you came into a really GREAT day and pharmaceuticals give you the feeling you got doped at the ER.

    thanks for your help

If you're taking Percs every day and 5mg is all you need for the day, all I can say is cherish this moment while it lasts. Before long it will take 10, 20, 40, etc. And at that point if your script ever runs out early you'll be sick as a dog. And you will never want to go through that again. That's when things begin to turn to shit. Anyway, compared to Opium? I'd say Oxycodone is stronger. It's even stronger than oral Morphine, and Percs are Oxycodone with aceto.

Percocet is an "Opioid". It is a synthetic compound derived from one of the many alkaloids in the opium poppy called "Thebane" It tends to give a more euphoric rush than standard opium alkaloids like Morphine and Codine but generally does not last more than 3 or 4 hours in your system. Opium is the raw milky sap contained in the poppy seed pod walls. It contains many alkaloids some of which are agonist and one that is an antagonist. The two main agonist contained in opium are the opiates Morphine and Codine they metabolize much slower thus the effects remain much longer in the human body. The euphoria caused by them is a mellower feeling that tends to make you sleepy. The antagonist is Thebane. When using Opuim it is very important to make sure the pods used have matured in order to minimize the Thebane content and maximize the Morphine and Codine contents. Immature poppy pods will contain a very high amount of Thebane and consuming it will be one of the worst experiences of your life with vomiting and a very rapid heart beat. Thebane is used to make Percocet by chemically cracking it's molecular structure thereby changing it at a molecular level. Thebane is also used to make "Narco-Non" a drug made to counter the effects of opiates during an overdose. The best way to tell if a poppy pod is fully developed is if the "crown" at the tip of the pod is standing straight up and not laying flat. This applies to dried pods used for "Poppy Tea" as well.

thanks for the info guys helps much.
So pretty much its going to be a mellow experience vs a talkative one?!.
Also I am getting that the type of effect for opium is the same as all opiates weather its opium, heroin, oxy ect. just more or less powerful?!

Opiates tend to be more sedating. Opiods like Oxy's and Hydrocodone give a warm glow, mild euphoria, and energy to do things. Also fairly good pain control.
