they're a pain. what's wrong with leaving a dog at home? and when you do take it out, what's the point of carrying it around? it just seems so silly to me. i want a dog i can have jump in and out of the car on it's own, can carry itself on it's own feet, and have a relatively low maintenance life. it's like having a child thta never grow up, except it's not a child, it's a pet. i don't get the point of having such an overbred thing that can't do for itself at least most of the time.
she's a puppy, not a baby. i'm not going to give anyone a hard time about carrying their dogs around, it just seems totally silly and unnatural to me. but whatever brings you joy. i doubt i'll ever be called to pet sit. but remember, even mama dogs leave their pups at home while they go do their "jobs."
my mother Works All Day for the Week... The Weekend is the Only Time She Gets to Spend with Puppy...And to Go Out... So She is Combining...
my mum has two Jobs... So When She Comes Home at Night...At 10:30pm... She gets to Spend About an Hour with Puppy Before Going to Bed... As She has to be up Early...
Jesus, so far I've read about a puppy referrede to as a baby and a lot of crap reasons to justify spending money on a contraption to make it look fashionable while carrying the DOG. Why doesn't she use a handbag like all the other MOTHERS of helpless cutesy babies. I don't know what the world is coming too. Why do we care more for our fucking animals than for the other people around us?
If the sling provides more of an opportunity for mum to be with puppy more often then I say "go for it". I'm sure the dog loves it. Little dogs are scared on the ground, and they should be, they get stepped on! It's like saying not to put a baby in a stroller if he is over 12 months old because he can walk. It's not like she is binding his feet is it? AND the dog gets socialized (good) and gets to see stuff (good).
Well I Never Thought I Would be Justifying and Defending my mothers Actions on an Online Forum... Ahahaha! I Don't Care What She Does as Long as She is Happy...And Marnie is Happy being with Her for the Day... She Had a Yorkshire Terrier that Passed Away Some Years Ago... She Bloody Well knows What She is Doing...
Im sorry Muddy for yer moms loss , I know how bad it hurts to lose a pet.....its no wonder she wants to spend as much of her little time she has with miss MArnie
Well She was 15...And was in a Bad Way Through Old Age... She Had to be Put Down... Which was very Traumatic...As the Vet Could Not Find Pippa's Vein... He kept Hurting Her...And She was Snarling at Him... Took Over 20 minutes... Seriously Traumatised mum...
the things we've done to the great species of dogginess, it's disgusting. we've basically gone out of our way to created a useless, helpless animal for our own amusement and selfishness. the poor things still spend all day all alone. we've always had dogs, but we've always had people in the house. buying someone a dog, man, that's one step down from handing them a child. they usually deserve better than they get.
I agree with the overall idea of your post. I find it odd how many people have come up being so adamantly passionate against such a really trivial thing.
i really hate people calling themselves dog parents. it's intensely offensive to me. i hate seeing people hauling living creatures who've been mutated into something cutesy around as an accessory to make up for the guilt of leaving it home all day. don't call it your child. if you left a helpless child home alone all day, you'd be arrested and lose custody.
Oh, I'm totally with you on the over breeding. I saw part of this show a couple months ago on TLC or one of those type of channels, the "World's Ugliest Dog Competition", which completely encompassed everything I hate about over breeding. Most of the dogs were tiny, literally nearly deformed teacups who could barely even walk. Yet the 'parents' (owners) were sooo proud of their little ones (ones that I don't think should even have been born in the first place). Despite the fun intention of the show, it truly sickened me. But there is a difference between such tiny overbred dogs and other small dogs. I'm thinking like Toto or Eddie from Frasier...those little buggers are smart and fully functional. Isn't that around the full-grown size Mudpuddle is talking about? And it's just a puppy, right?
I have two dogs , lab , chow mixes , and they realy are my best friends , I am with them all day everyday , when i am gone , they watch my home for me , they protect my things , and in return I give them all my devotion. They are a part of my family and i cannot imagine them Not being with me. Maybe im wrong for thinking of them as more than dogs , but to me they are.....
