Just saw them Live last night in dublin and i was mightily impressed ,though i'm not a fan of punk in general they certainly knew how to kick ass Live ,and with the help of my friend we got to interview one of the guitarists Brian Baker back stage before the gig..it was awesome!.
The Ramones, they inspired lots of punk bands including the Sex Pistols and heavy rock bands like Motorhead Why no Stooges and Buzzcocks up there?
I couldnt do more than 10 and I wanted to put a broad range up there. Sex Pistols and Ramones similar yes but you know...
Empty posers? WHERE THE FLYING FUCK DO YOU GET THAT!? They kick ass man. I missed their damn show! Exploited and Toxic Narcotic! I was pissed... They are not "empty posers"
empty posers, are you an ass?, they fucking created UK82 punk, there would be no punk if it wasnt for the exploited the only thing the sex pistols or the ramones did was turned punk into merchandise
Ok... I agree with social machine here. Punk became a fasion statement for a while and for a while, punk was the new hip thing. Well after the hip thing went away, the real punk would continue to play. Now all of these kids who werent still rebeling against their parents would have a nice new slogan of "Punk is dead." Well The Exploited smashed into the scene with their first album "Punks not dead" The album kicks ass. Go out, buy it, listen to it, then tell me if you still think they're posin.

Well, I say The Velvet Underground.. in their drony artsiness & atonal violas are more punk than any of them ill mothafuckaz. By the way, where's Wire? Television? Patti Smith?
a true punk votes other just because hes a punk thats why i voted other. But hell if i had to be pinned to choose an influence itd be a little bit of alot of them... I have my times with all music and i have had my times with most of these but my biggest one of the list would be a toss up between ramones/misfits/ and antiflag I prefer thrash over punk though... Propa fucking ghandi
