I used the Pull-out method for the first time on a girl who isn't using birth control pills.I felt I pulled out early but am still concerned and just want some opinions.

I pulled out and then masturbated around 4 strokes before ejaculating.

I know it's not a good method, but how safe are we?

I don't have the motivation to search for it now, but I read an article the other day that said that condoms and the pull out method have the same exact failure rate. The only obvious difference, is one protects you from STDs.

I've always thought it was a medical fact that pre-cum itself contains no sperm, with the real issue being if the guy has managed to wash out the leftover sperm from the last ejaculation (by urinating).

So to sum it up, yes, the pull out method can indeed fail, but I would guess it's relatively safe if you haven't ejaculated in a while prior to the sex. But if you don't want to get burnt, you should refrain from playing with fire. I've managed to impregnate a girl who was on the pill (I didn't pull out, but it goes to show that nothing is 100% effective). Condoms can also break, etc. Abstaining is the only truly safe method, so you may just want to focus on minimising the obvious risks.

No reason for fearmongering though. I believe the pull out method can be effective when applied correctly, but naturally I wouldn't rely on it in the long run. Pulling out could be considered as a backup for birth control pills though, particularly when you know that she should be the most fertile.

Some people have great success with pulling out early - others don't.
Regardless, without a condom, there are little swimmers ending up somewhere..... where are you putting them and are you 100% sure you didn't hesitate just a little before pulling out???
It only takes one teensy squirt you know.

It's a calculated risk. I just believe that if she's not protected, condoms are a must.

My husband and I did that for several years. I wanted to get off the pill, and neither of us liked the alternatives. Started when we were dating, and continued into out marriage until we wanted children. Usually finished in my mouth, or on my body somewhere.

Worked for us, but may not work for everyone. He had a pretty good sense as to when he was going to climax.

it works for the std's that you get when you cum in someone, but with no BC theres always the chance one of the pre-ejacs slips past the goalie, keep ya head up

I heard recently that Plan B was now being put on the shelves at pharmacies instead of behind the counter. Obviously, use condoms. But look into Plan B and have her take it immediately if you have unprotected sex again and you're worried about it.
