What do you mean by "have been turned" ? I guess the first guy who discovered that boobs are really nice to play with lived some 1000000 years ago....
i think a woman should be able to breastfeed wherever she needs to regardless of whether it is in public or not. all that is important is that the child is hungry. if it bothers you, look the other way. christ. its a boob. people need to grow up.
While breast-feeding should be allowed in all public places - babies should be banned from a significant portion.
I have quoted this before. In a study of several hundred societies there were only THIRTEEN who considered the breast sexual, or part of the sexual act exclusively. The other several hundred societies (and of course the men and womyn in them) didn't consider breasts sexual. That doesn't mean that the breast can't be sexual, but, in the way a hand or a toe can be. Everyone knows the hand or toe has a different, more important function, but it can and often is used in sex. There were also many many societies who never consider the breast in sex at all. When Katherine Detwyller, Anthropologist and Lactation Consultant was in parts of Africa and India, and she was telling the womyn that some people in the USA enjoy mouth-breast play, they first laughed and asked "Like a baby?" then they were actually grossed out by it. I, personally, don't feel that far that way, but most of the world does NOT consider the breast more sexual than your calf or your heel or your chin. Some anthropologists actually are thinking that societies which do not have breastfeeding as a given for babies will single out the breast for more than normal attention as a sex object. Think about it, it is something you need as a baby. If you don't get it as a baby (or even if you do, your society thinks you didn't) then the body part becomes mystified in a way that can become unhealthy. Look at some of the immature responses to this thread. Case in point, freinds.
We were watching National Geographic Channel on satellite TV, one of those shows about tribal life, I think this one was in Africa. The American anthropologist was talking to the women about breastfeeding, there was a three or four year old little boy standing up and nursing away while Mom was sitting there talking to the researcher. When he said something about how men in our society like to suck and play with women's breasts, the woman didn't believe him at first. Then she started laughing, and seemed grossed out by the idea, said to him "that's for babies, not grown men!"
Yeah, that's the normal reaction to most of the world to this form of sex play, which is so common in Industrial nations.
you're right they don't have a connection. but who cares if a man or a woman pisses in an alley that already smells like shit from garbage. i am fine with breastfeeding in public as well as if someone takes a leak outside. i've done it a million times. holding it in too long can lead to possible problems, and that shouldn't happen. also, it wouldn't happen in your living room, i'm talking outside behind a bush.
Sorry, but thats pure BS ! It only proves that even in developing countries there exist some I-hate-men-and-sex-is-gross women ! Just travel to that country yourself and flash your boobs to any GUY over there, and you will his reaction
in societies where breasts are not kept covered up, they are not seen as sexual objects at all (not to mention they have very low breast cancer rates). Breasts are seen as baby-feeding devices, and nothing more than that. It is the covering them up that sexualizes breasts, they are not inherently sexual in and of themselves. It has nothing to do with hating men or thinking sex is gross.
Because as a 22 yr old male you have a lot of experiance with flashing your tits at men in developing countries? Have you done any travelling? Public attitude about breasts do change depending on the country you go to. And, if a man was to react to seeing a N.A. breast, it might be because he knows of our society's taboo or he has never seen a breast if its shape, colour or size.
Even in Europe, Breats are a lot less taboo then in the US. For example in many countries, top-less tanning is no issue in most public beaches and lakes, that are not nudist places. And I have never heard of breastfeeding being an issue. For some individuals maybe, but not in generel.
No but I have been flashed once and therfore I know that there is no other thing that makes you more horny because you know it is aimed at you personally on purpose ! And no I have not travelled beyond Europe and have no plans to do so in the near future but as a 22 year old male I have a BRAIN !!!!! And therefore I know its only logical that men are attracted by boobs no matter where they live, because this is not controlled by race or education or something but by EVOLUTION (just in case you ever heard of the word as a 28 year old female )
You are right.. you have a brain. You have a brain that has been shaped to function with your society's norms. And while a "boob reflex" isn't controlled by race or education, it is shaped by society. Your society tells you that boobs are sexy first.... other societies tell other people that boobs are for feeding children first. Just because your society tells you that breasts are sexy, another society might tell it's men that long necks are sexy... or small feet. As I said, different societies, different sexual cues and norms. And you are right.. evolution does play into it. Without breasts, there wouldn't have been evolution because the babies would have died.
I breastfed three babies long after it was considered time for them to be weaned. I breastfed in public all the time. I was discreet, but I held to the notion that what I was doing was the way nature intended babies to be fed. No one ever asked me to go somewhere else to nurse my babies. It is a little alarming to me to see younger women going into a back bedroom at a party or into the restroom in public (or even into a special room just for breastfeeding that I have seen at one mall) these days. I thought people were closed minded and conservative about breastfeeding when my children were little, but it seems like society is regressing. It is worse now than it was then for women who want to give the very best nutrition there is to their babies.
I remember watching French commercials for Shampoon and Conditioner and they would a show a woman in the shower with her breats washing her hair.
In Canada, women are allowed to go topless in public places by law. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
GermanLM. Did you READ this, as well as the other INTELLIGENT posts on this thread (many by MikeE, Boogiemama, iceteaprincess, Aristartle and other intelligent posters) http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2768695&postcount=45 ???? The breast is NOT and never has been INHERENTLY exclusively sexual. It is, and was from the beginning of it's inception, a gland for feeding mammilian babies. Your responses are immature and ludicrous. :"OOOO Titties......" Please. The only people who act like this are not "sex machines" but those who are getting NONE. And, in many cases, it is blatantly obvious WHY that is true. Either respond to threads like this in a MATURE manner, or don't respond at all. Consider this a warning for innappropriate posting. 'Kay?
