I have had such in the past... Mostly when I was trying to be "normal" and interact with society.

I've been having them really bad this week, it feels like I'm having a damn heart attack, but I know I'm not. I can't concentrate, I can't breath good and I just have an overall feeling of uneasiness. What a terrible week to, I have finals on Friday.

    Anxiety attack....

First thing: realize this is not going to kill you.

Second thing: Slow down your breathing... Long slow breaths, make sure you exhale fully.

Third thing: A good relaxation herbal tea like Celestial Seasoning's "Tension Tamer" or similar.

Also, turn off the damned TV (If it's on) sit in a dimly lit room and just relax. Soothing music is good and a calming incense doesn't hurt....

I'm not much of a TV person and I usually listen to music all day. As for tea any kind of flavored tea make me gag and at the moment I only have plain old regular tea bags. The breathing thing helps temporarily until the attack comes back. Mine aren't really "attacks" per say, they are more like symptoms that linger all day.

That's because you aren't getting out from under the initial "attack" or as soon as you do, you get right back into a stressful task...

EDIT: You are all about music... but you are making your courses (stress) take all the fun out of it.

I didn't start drinking hot tea until I saw a documentary about Celestial Seasonings. I started out with the Tension Tamer and fell in love. I then tried Sleepytime, and it works! :2thumbsup:

Psych meds don't work for me, but natural things do sometimes.

I've never had a reaction to a natural approach. A natural approach has never put me in the hospital. A natural approach will most likely not kill me.

sleeptime extra has valerian root right? yeah, thats the good shit.

tension tamer doesn't just calm me down, it gives me a great natural energy as well. Not a jittery, caffeine fueled energy but a calm energy, like I can do anything and my hands won't shake while I'm doing it!

Kava paste worked for my wife better, a lot better, than Xanax. We get it from a farm in Hawaii -- not the corner drug store junk. I'm probably not supposed to mention the vendor's name, so if you want it you can PM me.
