Same here! I just stopped taking lsd.... because I had too much. I started to eat it every day. I didn't even trip out anymore because of the tolerance but my vision was always filled with rainbow and sunshine! Isn't it the most amazing substance known to man? but this is beside the point.... If there is any.. I lost it.. What was the point of this thread? aww yeah... magic rocks.. write a book!! We need some intellectuals publishing in the psychedelic scene!
Haha Op's original quote was an Alan Watts quote for anyone who didn't get it. 'Take these things very few times in and very high doses.' - Mckenna Paraphrase
hey!! inthydreams911 (what a paranoid name ) you got it!! I got no original thought patterns, everything is implanted. You say it never ends? bummer... I was kinda hoping to get back into a state of mind I had before.. I dropped it. Is that not possible? I wanna go back into the matrix! Back into the old stupid robotic state of mind. I mean.. people are retarded robots!.. I just wanna forget about all this shit. some things are just not meant to be seen. maybe I should become a billionaire? play the minds of the masses? like Gates or Jobs? they dropped a lot of acid. And they figured out the exact same shit! How the mind works...
Why is Inthydreams911 a paranoid name? It is from a metal band, and I used the name because it relates with dreams and exploring the mind. The 911 is just a number, it is not reference to 9/11, if anything its more related to the phone number. People aren't just a bunch of retarded robots, sometimes we let ourselves act that way, but we are far from it. Your thoughts seem to be a bunch of sporadic paranoid thoughts. You don't have to use lsd forever, but to think you've learned all you can learn from it, or to think that was a lost cause of some sorts doesn't say anything about lsd, it only says something about you. Lsd is unlimited in its lessons and journeys. It is never the same because life is never the same, it is as vast as can possibly be. Anyone who has seen lsd in its real form is blessed, and would leave in deep gratitude from the experiences it gave.
sorry. I was trippin on dox when I posted it. I can get very paranoid.... Only good vibes in this one:: when I look at humans all I see is repeating patterns. individuality is nonexistent. the same pattern repeating itself over and over again. This can be genetic and programmed ( the way we act). basically the human mind sucks up the information and circulates it back randomly till it learns what answer should be the right one in which situation. This is the stage when we learn to act. We are answering machines that select out information based on reward points. And the reward points are given out each time we move forward to the fulfillment of our genetic programing. Reproduction and Survival. This is the basis of human behavior. in my opinion. All the information Im circulating back right now was programmed into me. I was listening to Allan Watts recordings on acid comedowns. My mind was very easily programmed in that stage. Many of my thoughts originate from him. Every thought that you have in your head has been implanted by someone else. There was a book by Richard Dawkings. The Selfish Gene. In this book he explains the self replicating machines. Gene and Meme. Read up on this if you wanna know more. Thoughts are Meme-s. Self replicating machines that jump from one mind to another. They are like plants. You can plant them and let them grow. When they grew tall enough the human robot will tell another one about it. Seeding the mind of the others. Thoughts are plants replicating inside the mind of the human body robot. I think every human mind is created equal. The incoming signals decide what becomes of you. Through the lsd experience you can become aware of your own programing and make conscious observations about it. Maybe even change some of the original programing. If you can change your own mind.....you can change the mind of others. This leads to that wanker Tim Leary... He recognized this. He was the one who implanted the thought of the psychedelic experience in my head. The original seed that grew into a huge tree. Growing so large its In the way of every other thought. Im planning to cut that tree, rip it out and plant something else in its place.
Thank you for the support gendorf, I believe that someday I will do just that. I am very indecisive and my feelings are constantly moving and changing, so that every time I discover some subject which I feel devoted to exploring through writing, I quickly become involved with something else and often become ashamed of my former ambitions toward something which proves to be naive at best. I hope that as I go through my thirties (2 more years away!) I can settle on some general branch of thought and devote myself entirely, because I refuse to write seriously anything which I feel will endure only a relatively brief period of satisfaction. I recognize that authors are constantly revising and reediting their works and release them in increasingly expanded volumes, but it is not the particulars that occupy my frustration, it is the theme itself!
I got called a psychonaut the other day by my partner.. is somehow never even heard the word before.... Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
c Hmm very technical way of looking at our minds, but indeed it for the most part correct. But I am going to say this makes it look like we have no free will, and I going to say that we do in fact have free will. We have the power to make wrong choices, and stick with those wrong choices, going against our own evolution. Although after awhile of external pressures we may change our choice, but the fact that we have one indicates free will. In the bible, where it says, "we were made in the image of the creator", it meant we were given free will. And yes our brains are very advanced bio-computers, all of thoughts are rearranged data bits. But we have consciousness, awareness, and whenever we are fully conscious we can step out of our thought patterns and survival mechanisms and are able to make a choice outside of our programming. This is part of the process of enlightenment. Deprogramming the mechanical mind, and finding your awareness so that you can live freely. The more conscious you become, the less you are a probability statistic, and the more you are a real man. There is a state in the trip, where you can come to pure free will, and you can control consciously every aspect of surrounding reality as you wish in the that moment. And the feeling of FREEDOM is so profound, it is freedom in the true sense of the term!
your probably right. so you think that becoming aware of my own lack of freedom would set me free? The people I interact with are not conscious of their lack of free will. So I have to get down to their level, put myself back into the state of mind that is not free, so I can communicate with them. My train of thought is kinda hitting a wall here..... I don't know where I'm going with this stuff... maybe accepting that I have no free will Is the was to go.... Yeah... I should probably just go with the flow.... (this is what I wrote a few posts ago too)
Do we actually have free will? Our brains have already made up their mind .5ish of a second before we're consciously aware of it. And even if we do, free will isn't as free as we'd like to think. It's like chain of dominoes, whether we like it or not the next domino is going to be pushed over by the last, you don't have much say in the matter. I find it very weird to think of it like that, kinda claustrophobic, but it's also incredibly exhilarating when you relate it to the fact that you're reading this and pondering all the possible outcomes, whether I'm right or wrong, or even if you're smoking a doob and watching the smoke do all sorts of magnificent shit.. absolutely effortlessly, because why not? May as well do something, not because it needs to, or wants to or wants to please us.. it's just the perfect* equilibrium of what can and can't happen. But I don't like that last sentence, trying to think of an analogy.. It kinda feels like breath, but I think that's a touch of synesthesia at play. Hmm... like a bird riding a thermal, the balance of effort and non-effort. Another occasion to add: or something like that. Edit: Just to point out, "free will" is an oxymoron anyway. It's not free if you will it, it's willed will.
alright guys!! thanks for the chatting!! You are all amazing!! I love you all!! I'm gonna disappear now... Im gonna try to quit after the mescaline... in September.. I'm getting clean!! (maybe Im gonna get a vial or 2 just in case I change my mind ... I'm gonna take care of it...) LSD is my love chemical. its like a magnifying glass. showing you what is below the surface. what is under there. what it means to be human. what it means to love. It has been an honor to be part of the psychedelic revolution!! Im gonna eat some more 2c-b on the weekend... and then some Psilocybe cyanescens mushrooms, also a lot of smoked dmt..... and Im gonna finish off with the mesc... I love you all.. Dont do anything stupid! Take care of yourselves!!! Im gonna try to become one of those dumb unenlightened monkeys... like the ppl around me. . but maybe Ill come back later (I don't think so.... I was posting without encryption and Im paranoid..) PLURR!!
In a situation where an immediate reaction is needed, such as being attacked, you work from your instincts, your mechanisms, you just react in whatever way necessary. Their is no freedom in that for you are just act out of habit, out of defense. But in such situations where you can stop and think, and give yourself time to go back and forth between the parts which have that .5 second gap, and make a choice. That is called conscious thinking, being mindful, that is where you free will kicks in. Now that free will may very on how conscious you are. A bacteria's only choices may be left or right, that is very limited set of choices, but he has that little bit of free will he can choose. Now perhaps really the current of the body is moving to the right, so he choose right, and if he could think, maybe he thinks that was his choice, but really it was the surrounding forces making an impact. This is like that saying, "those who think themselves free, are the most enslaved." Don't take you freedom for granted. Many outsides forces are always putting pressures on you, and many are unknown. But imagine in a similar circumstance that bacteria can go left or right, but their are no external pressures, left is equally as profitable as right. Well then that bacteria has that small little choice, it doesn't matter one way or another to the universe at that moment, it gets to choose its own direction. But perhaps that bacteria is found of right for some reason, maybe its an internal pressure, that bacteria always went right, so when he went to choose he just choose right again, and didn't even give left a chance. That is what a lot of us do, just keep choosing the same patterns over and over. But we can make a choice! We don't have ultimate freedom, but we have our limited freedom, and the right to make choices. To make ourselves to make ourselves happy or sad, in a life joy or a life of sorrow, we can change the quality of our life. The more you know though the better you are off. If you live in the courtyard in the darkness, you live as a slave. But if you become friend of the kings, then your freedom is much greater! Well the courtyard is the mind, habit, suffering, and consciousness is the king, the freedom. Come to the king! That is why their are those who go to find their past lives, those who go to raise above this earth plane into a higher existence. You must know your past, because then you can understand the choices you made, and make a new ones. And you must rise above this, because then you can see from where the river flows. Then you can become friends of the higher powers, see why they make the choices they make. Become a boss yourself. If you are not a master then how can you be free? You have to come to see all, only then are you free.
Given that you consider the example with bacteria as free will, I think your example of being attacked can show that we display free will as well in such an incident. Eventhough there is a split second decision that needs to be made when one is being attacked and we can't really sit there and ponder about what course of action to take, there is still a variable of choice that can be made. One can run, duck, block, counterpunch etc. etc. I'll go further to say that if one works out at a gym or is practiced in martial arts, that they have then equipped themselves with skills that are beyond what would be their momentary tendency in such an incident.
An external pressure is the same as the internal pressure. You're grown out of the universe, so whatever choices you think you're making, *you're* still not actually making them. Free will is a hoax, and no I'm not a pessimist.
Yea I think martial arts, tai chi, and even sports are ways to help us be free. That being in the here and now, executing certain maneuvers, you have to make choices in split seconds. These acts take you beyond thinking, if you think its too late, you have to come to your awareness, the mind is no longer their, or it is their but it is fully absorbed into the present moment. My thing was always skateboarding, and skateboarding creates a profound sense of freedom. You are still going with the flow of things, but you can choose how to ride the concrete wave so to speak. I could go off a ramp, do a kickflip, a popshuvit, a 360 flip, or any other maneuver I had learned. But the really the freedom was in just riding, nowhere to go, so you could go anywhere. Nowhere to go, so anywhere is possible. That is how it starts. Its amazing have a great day of skateboarding. You head feels clear, no thoughts, you can be in the present, you can be more relaxed, more open. You can walk along a side walk a not say or should I stay to the left or the right. You can walk in a zig zag, tap dance, you can get off the sidewalk, go up to a tree and look at it, walk on the grass a bit. You feel more human, as reality is clearer, more spaces to move, open, like a child's world.
Yah I'm into sports and I find it truly amazing some of the physical feats athletes can perform often in split second decisions. 'Physical intelligence' is starting to be recognized more in psychology I believe which is good . Whether it be Lebron James or Bob Burnquist you can just watch them and see an awe inspiring degree of mastery in their respective sports and pushing their bodies' limits. One of the interesting phenomenas in sports is what is often referred to as the 'zone' and it's like a state where an athlete is performing at their peak performance for nearly the entirety of a game/competition, its really interesting to me how athletes can enter this state which often appears almost like a type of trance state. Yes I used to skateboard a bit, never really got into tricks but I can relate with how freeing it can feel. I've heard surfers in particular mention profound experiences out in the water while surfing, one friend suggesting that the first time standing up and catching a wave was a borderline spiritual experience. That all fascinated me and I'd like to at least do some more skateboarding but once I found guitar and music, I found the outlet which satisifies my soul so to speak.
