we considered giving our current dog SSRIs because she has lots of issues from being abandoned in the woods as a pup. ultimately we decided not to but it was on the table for sure, and she could probably use them. we did give her some kind of GABA agonist tranquilizer to help her sleep but it was way too strong and she'd be a zombie the next day so we stopped that after a few nights.

Her main behavioral issues are very frequent licking of paws (to the point that it can be called self-mutilation) and unprovoked barking at what looks to be imagined threats.

maybe your house is haunted, dude.

but seriously, that's too bad about your dog. one of my co-workers' dog is on "doggie valium," which i thought was kinda ridiculous, but i guess this is sort of like depression in humans, you can't understand it unless you (or your dog) have been there yourself

I know you won't believe this sort of thing Writter but animals have been known to be able to see things humans can not. Although cats have more of a reputation for supernatural ability. So I would not rule out something like that. What is "imagined" to you might not be. Humans only see a narrow spectrum of what actually exists.

But I worked in a animal shelter and am familiar with abused animals. It is not uncommon for dogs to to have nervous behavior like you describe when treated badly. I think it's probably more likely she was just abused.

We had a dog directly prior to this one who passed away, and he never barked at random. So if it is a lingering life force, it is that of my old dog, which would explain why my new one gets a bit territorial towards to the air sometimes :)

The licking of paws to the point of them getting raw and irritated can be a sign of a high amount of yeast in their system, due to not getting enough real meat in their diet. Do a search on it and you'll find some remedies that help sometimes.

Sorry to backtrack, but I wanted to say,

    This statement:

...filled me with warm fuzzies. It is always gratifying to have friends and to share things with them. Here on HF I have a community of friends (if they may be called such) whom I don't know and have never met. In general, we have nothing in common except our participation on these forums, BUT yet someone was glad to see I was back. It's a warm feeling to know people out there miss me and are glad to see me back...it makes me think we have (even slight) connections on a heart/friendship level, rather than merely intellectual connections about shared interests.

    Point made.

In other news, I'm getting excited for this miprocin to arrive. I've been reading up more about it, and it sounds like quite the chem. I am eager to begin my forays.

    Question:
What can folks here share about microdosing strategies for situations where an immersive trip is not desired...say a desire for slight enhancement in working/creativity? I would be fascinated by the possibility of using psych's in this way.

    N'aww :2thumbsup:

Well, I "micro'd" some mushrooms once which didn't really go too well, probably cos it wasn't micro enough.
I ate 8 liberty caps(pure guess work for my first try) and had some mild, but distracting visuals(details and textures were slightly enhanced, the brush strokes on the canvas were just confusing my sense of depth and form, and wiggling about a little bit) accompanied with some confusion that hindered that creative "flow". Didn't translate very well to the guitar either..
Wasn't great, it more annoying than fun or useful. It was more like the mushrooms were poking me in the ribs, rather than leading me by the hand.
Caught in a no mans land of brain fuzz.

    Didn't add cannabis.

Fond of the LSD micro dosages, besides the fact that I've been slowly whittling down my stash.. so I'm stopping now for a while, 'til I can find a source over here :p
But yeah, it took a few tries to find the "sweet spot"(will vary on your tabs, and for what you want). I've found it can be a little tricky to channel the "creative energy" productively. I've found my thoughts wandering aimlessly without me noticing, but then again, I do that sober as well, so I might just be a little more aware of that during the sessions.
Also, try and look for the acid once you've taken it. It can be very subtle, to the point where I've gone 3 or 4 hours with my thoughts wandering(courtesy of the LSD), but had forgotten I'd actually taken anything.. then I'd remember, run off into the studio and expect it to just "happen", and the mindset is just wrong cos I'm trying to force things, and it's just... mah. Couldn't settle.
What I've done since then is wait about an hour after dosing, and then meditate for a while. Find that shift in consciousness and then ride it. Keep distractions to a minimum, so do any prep work that you need to before hand, just to streamline the process.

I've found that it's usually after about hour 3 when the magic really happens. I find the come up, however subtle, still has some minor turbulence.. and although you can still work with it, it's just much better once things settle down after the "peak".

Musically it's pretty awesome. I find my sense of polyrhythms(that word looks very strange :0) is greatly enhanced, and I can almost organise what I'm going to play about a bar ahead, and then play with that structure when I actually play it. Very weird to describe, but great fun :p

Have added cannabis(post #1 :p), and although it was like... wow.. and I came out with a painting at the end, I probably won't do it again. I'd rather just have a bigass experience and paint the next day with the company of that beautiful psychedelic afterglow.

That's what I've found at any rate. Obviously take into account personal differences, reasons for use(even within just using it for creativity, we come at it from different angles), and personality type and how you use your day. As much as it isn't a trip, it's still a trip.. it's fascinating :D

Bump for my decade anniversary of my first trip, which was on Psilocybin Mushrooms. I have a light celebratory dose of Psilocybin Alleni ready but I spent the morning and afternoon unloading over 300+ Christmas trees as well as moving around pallets and what not to get ready for the Holidays, so I may take it easy tonight.

Thanks :) Inspired from Alan Watts.

Bump for kratom, 4.8g Cosmic Bali. Crushed to flour consistency. Half a lemon squeezed over it, then just covered with boiling water. Stir repeatedly until cool enough to drink. Shoot back in 3-4 big swigs along with the powder. Not too bad, a chase doesn't hurt though. Good stuff, sedating blend.

You're on dangerous surf and turf here, sir. There are no hedges to be clipped 1,000 ft below sea level. If you have any more questions it would be wise to keep them to yourself.

But for clarity, I work for the cuttlefish..

nice! what form is it in. all powder? all crystal? a mix? coloring? been hearing of a good bit more MDMA (good stuff not 'molly' or various other RCs) going around lately. hope it keeps up. dont get me wrong i have tried mephedrone, methylone, 6-apb, 4fa, butylone, to name a FEW and each, some more than others, are pretty good compounds indeed, but for a roll MDMA all the way, but im sick of all this molly talk i hear in pop culture songs, especially in poppy rap music. did these idiots JUST find out MDMA was a drug. christ, been around since whennn. like firsty synthesized by Merck Pharma in i think 1940somthing? Started becoming prevelant late 70s? big resurgance in 90s? goddamn ignorance. /end rant.

p.s. i know many of the dates i listed werent 100% accurate, apologies, but they are pretty close to fact.

The MDMA is off white crystally powder, marquis tested.

MDMA was first synthesized in 1912 but you are fairly accurate with those other dates. The tone of popular rap music has changed, incorporating more EDM elements and not glorifying violence as much as say gangster rap. I don't enjoy most the pop songs that mention Molly in it but it doesn't particularly bother me either. I think the rebranding of MDMA as 'Molly' and giving the misleading impression that it's somehow necessarily safer or purer than Ecstasy has probably had some experiment with it who otherwise wouldn't.

It got big in the 80's but in the 60's and 70's its trippy cousin MDA was popular although never as popular as MDMA got. For a time you could even buy MDMA at the bar with your drinks when it was legal.

MDMA quality is really high right now if you can find it. But that is a big if. So many people say they have it and they don't. It has become another drug that makes money like weed or coke so all the trap rappers talk about it now. Everyone wants it, not just ravers and hippies.

The trouble with molly is it can be cut like coke. With pills only the people who press them decide what to mix it with. With molly just like coke every hand that touches can step on it a bit more. Even when I bought molly a few years ago before it blew up in the mainstream it was not cut very often but the type of people selling it now has changed. It is cheaper and easier to just put out crystal. No extra cost and hassle getting a pill press. So the manufactures are happy to do it.

One of the more impressive illusions I've seen.. usually it's some mild breathing, but my duvet just went CRAZY.
Might wanna mute it, the background track is cheesy as hell. Just focus on the letters.
