So you believe meditation works as a 'substitute' for psychedelic drugs rather than a 'trade off?'

If so, why do you continue to explore psychedelics?

Do you consider prayer or glossolalia spiritual technologies as efficient as meditation in terms of propelling people to the same place ?

when I was first meditating with candles and ninja shit.. my parents thought I was on drugs anyways. and for as often as they interrupted me while meditating I just switched to drugs for the short cut..

I remember trying to meditate my first 2c-e trip, and it actually went pretty well. Did it a few times of lsd trips also, but never really had the patience. Really I view playing guitar as my ultimate meditation tool. Psychedelics have never really drawn me to meditation, which I do find a bit odd, but I guess guitar is good enough for me.

    Sorry about late response but:
I think 50mg, but I realized later that my dosing may have been wrong. 2c-e was the 1st rc I ever got, so I had no scale and just dumped it all in diluted water so 1mL = 1mg, which I now regret.

Anyways, the 2c-e had actually frozen a bit and had a couple of ice cubes floating in it, so perhaps that affected the dosage, and maybe it was much more. Or maybe I had food poisoning and it was bad timing. All I can truly say is, I will be very careful with 2c-e in the future, if or when I return to it.

I don't see that spirituality needs drugs.

But it depends on the brain. I think that many people simply can't feel the same things without drugs. I only ever got glimpses of it.

They're not simply the same. I very much resent the idea that psychedelics are just some sort of shortcut or something. Even if that WAS the case, well fine, I would rather be enlightened now than right before I die, having spend my whole life to get there... but they're just not the same. When people tell me that they'll just meditate and be able to trip on LSD because it's a shortcut, or that if they WANTED to trip, they would do it the legit way by meditating, I pretty much write them off as ignorant arrogant fucks.

Think of it as a peak. There's many ways to get there, and all of them have unique views. *edit* that makes it sound like I think the end result is the same.... I don't.... but you can see where the other guys came from, at the same time.

you huff enough oxygen and hold your breath just right.. youll probably trip harder then anything drugs can give u.. however its very hard to repeat the process naturally like that over and over in a single setting..

My friend did an interesting trick to me in high school, told me to hyper-ventilate deeply for 30 seconds, and then inhale as deep as I could, and hold it as hard as i can. He then proceeded to pump my chest like he was giving me CPR, as I held that breath, and in about 10 seconds (!) I lost consciousness . . . regained it right as I crumpled to the ground. Was very trippy but very short lived. LOL orison candles and ninja shit :D

That is such a great capture of the feel of those two psyches :) awesome, i'm going to remember this.

neuro, no scale, no surprise :D :p It was probably more than 50mg . . . or like you said the food was an issue.

i'm sure you guys realize that the holding your breath tricks are "trippy" b/c you are depriving your brain of oxygen. it's a good way to die...

the ice could have actually made his dose lower than he thought (as particles tend to act as a seed for ice crystals to form on.)

i've only vomited from a psychedelic one time, and it was on 20 mg 2ce.

youre not depriving your brain of oxygen when you take many deep breaths before hand.. same thing fighter pilots do, the pressure on the chest sims Gforce. before you know it you can pull 4g's without passing out.. getting high on life.

I'd be more worried about un-needed chest compressions causing damage. Especially if they're performed with full lungs that have no way to empty.

Well tripping sure teaches you a lot because you see million thoughts in one second not only see them but experience at the same time. The thing i learned from tripping is that it can hasten the process of learning but like one of my friends told me revelation is big work not just a lsd trip. When we actually start learning, creating and building up these ideas by time they are much much more stronger. So why trip again and again after we get the message well i dont know but its nice to see the world from hoffmans eyes :)

    I'm not so sure.

I think pot smoke is next to harmless. Cigarette smoke is not, but it will still cause cancer, not like, break vital parts of your chest instantly....

Bump for a nice vienna lager, a puff of my homegrown super lemon haze, and the slowly sinking in realization that after more than 20 yrs, I'm finally on my way out of a company that I've both loved and loathed.
I've been very secretive about it here. Things I've said could mess up life pretty seriously but in a few weeks I won't have to be concerned about that any longer.
My whole life is getting a thorough spring cleaning. Home, career, kid... it's pretty groovy over all but damn hard to stay focused.

GB, they are not the same. For me anyway, they are directed at the same goal. LSD is not enlightenment in pill form, in the same way that sitting down in meditation is not the same thing as becoming enlightened. They are tools of different kinds with which I continually batter against my ego-entity. That is my PERSONAL program. I make no claims for anyone else.

Prayer and glossolalia are also tools on the same journey if done with the same kind of mindfulness, although often they are not done that way.
