    ^^it's a "now slice" dude.

that eagle looked pretty bad ass. i didn't really watched, but i listened as i cooked dinner. fucking taking out monkeys and sloths as prey!

most of the stuff they talked about on "illusion of time" was not new information. a couple new ideas i guess, but they just explain that we don't really know shit...

the hardest thing to understand for me is that moving can actually slow down BIOLOGICAL time. they said that if you orbited a black hole for a couple hours, that time would slow so much, that back on earth YEARS would have passed, but you would have only ages a couple hours. i've heard things like this before, but it just doesn't make sense! i guess it all goes back to our imperfect perception of the universe. we can only see what our brains evolved to allow us to see. makes sense that it's the present. but, it'd be pretty evolutionarily beneficial to be able to see the future too right?!

i think time is just another one of nature's fractals. when you are first born, time passes really slowly, because each chunk of time is a large fraction of your total life. but when you're old, even a few months can go by pretty quick, because it's just a small chunk of your total life.
therefore a clock, or a calendar maybe, should look like a spiraled sea shell or something. it starts on the outside going around slowly, and spirals in(should be out like the tool song, but i guess that'd be time reversed) going quicker and quicker...until you're dead

Have any of you been so drunk while browsing the forums that you have to cover one eye so that you can read each post?

Damned work... I don't have tv at home and dont miss having it except once in awhile. I've got the thru the wormhole disks queued up tho, looking forward.
The Brian Greene Nova series looks good, I caught the one on "space" (not outer but actual space) last week and it's mind blowing.
I love trying to wrap my head around this stuff. I don't want to sound like I understand it all, I don't, but maybe I can help you with this one. I didn't see the show so I dont know how they tried.
Einsteins special relativity, most know as E=MC squared, is where that came from. Light always travels at 300,000,000 M/sec. If you're on a airplane at 600 mph, and throw a ball at 50 mph, the ball is traveling at 650mph relative to the earth. If you're the one the threw the ball, it looks like it's going 50mph. If you light a candle in the same airplane, the light travels at it's always limited speed of 300,000,000 M/sec. Whether measured from outside the airplane standing still or inside.
In other words light never exceeds that speed. Nothing can make it go faster, even if the source of the light has velocity. It's absolute.
Einstein figured out that when an object with mass goes faster, its mass increases. It takes more energy to go faster, more mass, more energy, until you hit the limit. Thats why nothing can get more than close to lightspeed, never reach it nor exceed it. Photons have no mass, so they can.
Speed is the product of distance over time. The only way that light travels at the same speed as observed by everyone at any relative speed, is that time has to slow.
It's not BIOLOGICAL, rather, if you could send a watch on a near light speed journey for a year, it would actually measure much less than a year.
I found this recent experiment which is better than the 70's experiment flyinig atomic clocks on airplanes.
As far as how we perceive time, I read one recent theory about what you were saying about time dilation we experience when young vs old. It's proposed that it is due to novelty and familiarity. When we're young everything is still new and unfamiliar, time seems to pass slowly. As we become older and experienced, the opposite.
I found that idea interesting as it meshes well with my understanding of time dilation with psychedelics. <---- mandatory on topic content :)

they said it IS biological. that you DO actually slow the passage of time. i always just thought it was because the speed of light...that made the clock appear wrong - AKA the stupid clock is wrong. but i don't get how that would actually slow the aging process. it's crazy to think about.

i agree with the young vs old thing.
but what about "time flies when you're having fun?" that doesn't seem to fit with that..

Thats curious, I'd like to see how they meant that. Was it in the context that time doesnt just slow down on the clock, but passage of time for biological entities too? As I understand it, if you were traveling near the speed of light, you wouldn't sense time slowing, but someone observing you would.

Sure it does. That's exactly why. You're having fun because its new, novel, interesting, a unique experience... You're bored and time crawls by waiting for the bus, but that ride with a hot babe in a lamborghini flys by. Makes sense to me. Your trip to Alaska probably felt like it went by faster than an equivalent time at work I'd wager.

^^^happy birthday, youngin :) you outta get wasted on your 21st, even if you normally don't drink much.

i wasn't too pumped for mine either. like most people, i'd already done plenty of drinking. can't even remember what i did now..

voyage...they talked about the observer thing you said. but what happens when you get back to earth
they used the example of a black hole. it drastically pulls on the fabric of time - slowing it down. and if you could go orbit a black hole for a few hours, "the observer" would see you slow way down. for them 50 years might pass, but for you it was only hours. THEN, you come back to earth and are 50 years younger than everyone else???? that's the part that doesn't jive with me.

You getting them Q's? Those pills are just a pressed version of the sand that's like 82% pure, from which each roll is like 120-150 mg though I can't recall a shitload aside from one pill being enough for a solid, gentle and energetic, empathic roll that hits in like 5-15 minutes and keeps ya happy n' loving life in that way only quality Molly can do :D

Dunno if ya found dude peddling Mayan Calendar Lucy yet or not, but if memory serves, that guy also can score vials, which if ya get any L, ya gotta be nice n' share...same with Q's ;)

Ya also shouldn't have problems scoring etizolam, ket, opium, like 70something% pure yay, probably horse, etaqualone, methylone, and mephedrone. Assuming you be using the vendor I think yous is yo :mickey:
