"Afterglow" Oil on A4 canvas, pretty small - would have liked to do it a bit bigger but I need to get a load more canvases, all I've got left are a load of A4s. Either that or I start painting over some older ones I also need to learn how to photograph this shit properly, this has a lovely warmth in it that I really like, but the photo's lost a fair bit of it :/
Further. Further further. Getting closer! Haven't touched it in a while though, been inundated with commissions - which has been great, but need a break
Sold within 5 hours of being put up at work! pretty chuffed Playing around with movement Failed at depth, but got a lot from it
Really diggin' the fox and the horses are very fluid in their motion. How much do you sell a painting for, on average, if you don't mind me asking?
Cheers man, wanna work with the quick strokes on the horses.. think they can be cleaned up a bit, the dust too.. scribbled that shit in I sell stuff for around £40 - £200, depending on the size, how long it took, and the overall outcome. Not too fussed about the set price, happy to move around. The fox was up for £110 but sold it for £90.. Been told I'm pricing my work too cheap, and others say too expensive.. but fuck knows what to price at, just making things up as I go along, to be honest
I'd be in a mess trying to price any work of mine. I guess you could say I'm a little timid when it comes to putting a value on any work I do, art or otherwise. Eh, it's all subjective anyways. I seem to recall a news article about a child no older than five (or rather the child's parents most likely) selling paintings of hers of various forms of color splashes and streaks for thousands a piece. She even had her own exhibition Ah here's that article
Wow.. some of those do actually look pretty cool, but that woman does chat some shit. I find it hard to believe a 5yr old knows much about surrealism and abstract art too, think the parents have been clever. But good on them, she's got a creative career sorted.. be interesting to see what else happens
Haha, more on the way. Been kinda hectic recently, moving back to Cape Town next week so EVERYTHING is in boxes bar some oils and some brushes. Cracking out some family paintings that I said I'd do but just kept putting them off, but very pleased with them so far - just touching em up And thanks Isadoran
Hey that sounds awesome. I love southafrica and travel always brings me great artistic inspiration! Youseem interesting, add or pm me if you ever need someone tochat with aboutyour adventures!
Oh, you :blush5: But yeah, gladly feel free to drop by if you ever find yourself that far south! I can't wait to get cracking..
Are posts with psychedelic music out of place in this discussion? Or could I post some? And I don't mean early Pink Floyd, because that is kind of obvious and many people know these songs by heart already. :sunny:
There's a psychedelic music section somewhere, think it's in the synthetic drugs section in the psychedelic forum - but feel free to colour the thread Jack, I'm gonna start a new one soon anyway with a more suitable title for the non-psychedelic shit Links here for the trippy music: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=418293 And thanks starry!
S'ok... it's great.. haunting I think There can be a lot of meanness on here It's good to just see something that's nice.. Love, Starrybee:sunny:
