Seems like you've been inspired by that female artist (I forget her name) in some of these works. Good word indeed.

Yeah man! not a scratch on her yet though, but hey. Thanks :)

Anyway - finished this about 30mins ago.. it's oil on canvas.

I figured to get a better understanding of colour, you have to go balls deep.. so it's aptly named: "Balls Deep in Colour".

Kinda inspired by AMT, gave me a very different view on how to look at colour.. apply the concept of a fractal and you just get colours within colours within colours within colours. I could have gone on endlessly but I had to call the quits at some point :p

This makes me think of the photoshop eye, that became a fad as a desktop and stuff, a long ass time ago.

You know, the black and white/greyscale portion of a face, with a brilliantly multi-coloured pupil.

As long as that's a good thing :p
But I dunno man, how long ago? Tried googling it but I just got spammed with 1,000 different eyes being photoshopped..

And thanks Mop :2thumbsup: really enjoying this extra bit of freedom, not so much thinking "It's gotta look like that".. more like - "Pick a colour.. and throw it there.. ta-da!"

    Much more fun!

Yeah, it's my favorite way to paint. I just love an extemporaneous style when it comes to the canvas :daisy:

Pretty pleased, lost some colour richness though - need to chill out with my white.

This was strange, over the course of 6 hours it's been about 3 or 4 different paintings.. I just let go. In another thread I was talking about the "musical" way of painting vs "artistic" way of painting. Well this was more musical than artistic.. I found a rhythm and everything just went from there, wasn't thinking about the rights and wrongs - the little judgements that hold you back from really dissolving into the medium. I dissolved pretty well.. I didn't even notice until I came out a good few hours later and it was night time...

Be pretty good to trip into though, lots of textures and scratchings and the like - plus some weird colours. It's not as dark in real life :p

Haha thanks dude, I'd like to pretend to be all romantic and stuff but in all honesty most of my work's been pretty hollow.. only really wanting to appeal to the market.

I'm working on the messages :)

    Mushroom,
I like what you've got going with these last few pieces you posted. Very nice.

Thanks all, I was doubting them for a bit so it's good to hear :)

And Midwest, and to anyone else, everything's for sale besides the commissions, obviously. That one's up for around £110 but I'm open to offers - leaving the country in 5 months so I need money! :p Cheers for the rep btw
If you're abroad.. I'll see what it costs to mail/ship/whatever if there's some real interest - just gimme a PM.

Spread the word, and the love! I'm skint! :p

I really like your art work MeatyMushroom! You have a talent with human emotions in your pieces, most people can't even get the person down, but you doubled that with an expression. Nice job!
