those two Liquid Sound Company albums are class, couldn't choose a favourite between em the debut "Exploring The Psychedelic" just got a vinyl reissue on Nasoni, well worth checking out if you do vinyl
I agree with Syd Barret, and Pink Floyd, some of what the Doors put out, Also Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarmclock, and I would consider Primus Psychedelia as well
the silver apples, are ok in small doses. i guess they arnt as annoying as Lothar and the Hand People. Greatful Dead Anthem of The Sun is probably a great one...
When I was in Glasgow (Scotland), two weeks ago, i bought this interesting book about British psychedelia from 1966-69: Record Collector 100 Greatest Psychedelic Records. The book focusses on albums and singles, on mainstream bands like cream, the pink floyd and the small faces and also obscure underground bands like the end, the iddle race and skip bifferty, all in chronological order. I highly recommend this book to annyone who's interested in 60s psychedelia. Here are some scans of the book:
Pretty much anything from Nuggets (the first) Syd Barret, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, the early dead stuff, Jefferson Airplane, The Blues Project, Country Joe & The Fish, The Healing Song that Hugh Masakela played at monterey and I can write a lot more and waste my time
Colour Haze is awesome, It made me get into the whole German music scene. Has anybody heard of the Mandra Gora Lightshow Society? ....Another great German band.
Their Satanic Majesties Request (Album) and We Love You / Dandelion (Single) are clearly psychedelic.
Yeah, I like their album Beyond the mushroom gate, especially the first song; I don't want to rewind the time. Lucille's grotesque diary of her interstellar journey was really dissapointing, though, despite the albumtitle
That album is a classic! A lot of people dismiss it because it's "their Sgt Pepper". The album covers may be similar, but not the music. I haven't seen anyone mention Hawkwind! I read they aren't well known in the states, mainly Europe so go look for some now if you like Space Rock!
I can'tlisten psychodelic music now cause I'm in a bad mood, so it makes me more depressed. It's so sad.
I don't want... to... rewind... the time. I like the fact that it sounds like a vedic chant.. very cool song, indeed.
I've been wanting to get a good book on psychedelia, but for some reason they seem to be ridiculously expensive! I'm talking up over one hundred dollars. I'm not ready to pay that kind of money for information I can probably find free on the internet, but it'd be great to find a good, decently priced book.
