Gay Pride. On the Fourth of July we will say goodbye to the super acclaimed, and unfortunately not for all, Gay Pride. Once again, in the most important cities in the world, this festival has been celebrated and becoming more than a party, is a declaration of love and acceptance without prejudice. A celebration that, as the numbers indicate, each year weighs more in the whole world and is dignifying a change of social paradigm.

    Love VS Hate
Although it may seem ridiculous, there are still 9 countries that penalize with the death penalty the act of being gay, and another 50 countries where the act of loving another person of the same sex, could result in a prison sentence, economic fine, or even torture.

Today we have people who still ask, usually with a voice of superiority or rejection “why is there not straight pride? and honestly, I don’t know what scares me the most, a sheer ignorance? Or if what’s really behind it is, yet, a homophobia DNA unfounded by the rise of the extreme right all over the world?

    Celebration Of Love

But we’re on a day of celebration and I don’t want to get annoying with politics and all that stuff. Despite there are many people with this terrible mentality, more and more countries embrace and preach gay pride. Although it is only 30 countries at the moment, they show an example of the progress and evolution of modern societies. Progress and evolution ended at last by destroying the walls of misunderstanding, injustice, and the age of mental stone.

So, very carefully and respecting the distance…….. let us take to the streets to join this pride that not only represents the LGBT group but all of us who, in some way or other, feel part of this social change that is undoubtedly inevitable.

It’s time to come together, what’s important is not what is gone, but to remember, we still have millions of brave people left, who will always defend and stand in front of the most vulnerable. We know what the solutions are, we all have the power to change, then, what we are waiting for?…

Here you can find a super interesting book about homosexuality in teenagers, and for everyone who has doubts and needs answers about homosexuality in general.
