It won't be until gay marriage becomes legal throughout the country, preferably by a Supreme Court decision, that that will be true. And even then, the conservatives can endeavor to get their own conservative presidents elected who'll fill in SC vacancies with ultra-conservative judges who could reverse that.

Even conservative judges can't find a legal basis to uphold these laws. Which was true in Prop 8 too, conservatives made a stink over the fact the original federal judge who ruled on it was OMG GAY, but, ignored the fact he was a Reagan appointed judge who had a pretty serious conservative history in his rulings.
