There seems to be some disagreement, I'd call it that, over the pronunciation of the diphthong 'ae' in modern Latin. Specifically in the Ave Maria.

AVE MARIA, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

Anyways when they sing it (I prefer the Gounod version BTW) they often come to the last word, Nostrae. And they often sing it as a long A, as in cake. Karen Carpenter sings it this way, at least a few people do.

My classical Latin dictionary says it would be a long I, as in kite. Also, I am reminded by the phrase Tae Kwon Do IAE. Also, the "ae" as a long A seems unlikely, because that is an English usage.
