Election 2024: Exposing Project 2025 | GLAAD How a second Trump presidency could impact the LGBTQ+ community
The right wing used to hide all their authoritarian thought---they've finally found a big enough group of cult-like citizens ( thanks trump) that now they have just come right out and stated their true beliefs.
Although it can be hard to see at the time, openness has a lot of benefits in the long run, because both sides then have a voice. Here in the UK today, if someone leaves work on a Friday night and tells his workmates that he is off to the gay bar, no one gives it a second thought. This situation certainly did not exist in my younger days. I have never visited the US, but I believe their is still more stigma and division than over here. Needless to say, the US is a vast country, so opinions from ane state cannot be seen as national. Perhaps Trump, in his tradition of putting both feet in it, will end up better all round in the long run.
