This is no doubt one of the best hip-hop albums from 2014, with its release coming only about a month ago. It is a modern-day take on 90's boom bap with a strong emphasis on the style of hip hop pioneered back in the heyday of hip hop music. PRhyme consists of rapper Royce Da 5'9", and hip-hop legend DJ Premier from the incredible 90's hip hop duo Gang Starr. This album marks a triumphant return after a long absence for DJ Premier, who shows he is still at the top of his game after all this time and one of the best producers in all of the genre's history. While I don't know much about the aforementioned Royce, other than the fact he recorded an album with Eminem a few years back, his flow is pretty good and his lyrics are at times quite witty while still somewhat falling into the mold of current-day hardcore hip hop.
