hehehehe oh, my... <(^_^<) <(^_^)> (>^_^)> I'm so glad you posted that. grouve on, man feel the Loves
natural 23 the thing your letter which ive seen before doesnt bring out is that sort of thinking is applied in islam all the time . people really are stoning people, chopping off their hands, and beheading them for islam . what makes that letter apt is when you read it you notice that christians had these funny rules in the past and for the most part have ditched them , so its funny to read . this isnt the same with islam ....there isnt the same amount of slavery but that is because of outside pressure, but in other areas islams still driving people back into the dark ages
Johnny, I am cautious in reponding to what you write, in part, because you are correct and because it can mislead the attention from "the sins propagated via 'western-Chirstian cultures'". Sometimes destructive behavior can be cloaked and can be hidden through many devices. As a counter to the obvious barbaric behavior that you cite, to broaden the view, I will cite a few random examples to which many western-Christian minds are numbed, decived or lack knowledge about. (1) 100,000 innocent Iraqis are dead because of a public that was in essence mislead by business or business-related intersts that include the neo-conservative base, the military industrial complex and oil companies (it is easy to say the word "dead" but if it's your child with her foot blown off you might view it differently). (2) Millions of Cambodian people in essence murdered during Nixon's secret bombings. (3) Genocide of millions of indigenous North-Americans by "good Chirstians." (4) Physical and economic persecution and murder of African-Americans. (5) Financings and training of 'right-wing' South-American death squads causing the 100,000's deaths. These are just a few random choices in order to illustrate the point that, although you are largely correct, our attention should not be diverted from the complete picture; and, more specifically, that we should be very careful to have reserve when using labels. Some of the most wonderful, kind and honest people that I have met are Muslim; now is a time to foster change by example; it is important that we do not tease people who are in pain but instead have integrity in our interactions. Given this, however, it is also important that we do not coddle or foolishly bow-down to those who are frustrated, corrupt or who lack insight into human cooperation, acceptance, tolerance, fairness and justice; and here I refer to all people, Christian, Muslim, etc. Peace my Friend, David .
Longlongago, You write, Mentioning the idea that more people should "blink," you left the component of "intention" and "culpability" out of your equation. I'll add a prayer, a goal, a hope: May there be greater peace and goodness among human beings on this little blue marble. With respect, David .
NEXT you might make driving a sin or a set of rules writen by God on how to drive a vehicle. maybe The Bible part # 3000 well cover vehicles.
I'm not 100% clear on the point(s) that you are making but it appears that you are again referring to the recent popular attention that is focused on what I will characterize as "barbaric behavior by 'Islamic governments'"; if this is the case then I understand your point and I hope that these governments change their ugly ways, agreed. Hey, Longlongago, will you also support 'the memory' of the students other citizens murdered in the Tianamen Square massacre ? You can just add a comment right here in this thread ? Your previous point is well taken, and I agree with you. .
Yes, understood. As I see it, it is important that we don't "throw the baby out with the bath water" and also that we do not settle for less than a complete healing. Peace my Brother. .
