I dunno, I just don't think he likes to be wrong or back down.
I remember having a 3-4 page discussion with him about energy saving light bulbs.
I was basicaly saying make up your own mind about them and get them if you like.
Anybody reading his responses would think I was forcing him to insert them into every socket in his house and every orifice on his body.

i use those bulbs btw, they last so much longer it's worth it just knowing how much you save on your electric bill and that you don't have to change the bulbs as much.

Yeah, but there not like the ones I used when I was a kid.
Plus they ar sooooo expensive.

One of the ways they're not like the ones I used as a kid is they have to be disposed of in a different way because they create an environment hazard. They may be cheaper or some last longer for some, but that hasn't been my experience. I've had to replace two within only three months of service, and I had to locate a place to dispose of them. They flicker and don't put out the same light quality for at least five minutes after they are lit. Sorry not buying the hype, basing my judgement on personal experience not marketting.

And shouldn't our arguments about bulbs be held in the consumer or envirnomental forum?

I live in a rural area, to dispose of these bulbs I have to drive five miles to find a place that will dispose of them. Can't just put them in my trash can. And I pay for trash pickup. That's gas for those five miles, I am not willing to spend on a bulb that's substandard for my purposes. I've bought a stock of incandescents.

Just how you don't always seem to understand what people are saying and interprete things in your own unique way.
