President Obama Is Doing A Good Job

Why don't you just say the word? We all know what you mean and you're obviously being racist so saying 'the n word' doesn't make it sound less racist.

 

While I agree 100% that Obama has had far more than 7 scandals thus far, I do not agree with or see why people have to resort to calling him racist names (whether spelled out or not). And I know, I Know, I'm sure the poster who said it would say it's not because his skin color but because of how he is or something, but there are PLENTY of other words that could apply to Obama without resorting to childish racism. But I mean, I guess if that's the way you talk, I feel everyone should have a right to say what they want.... but it's just tacky and trashy to resort to words like that. There are so many things that could and do apply that have nothing to do with skin color.

 

Yogi and Hotwater. Two different sides-same thing. Racism is disgusting no matter which side it comes from. And though I do agree also that Hotwater is delusional about Obama, at least Hotwater talks with a bit more class than the counterpart I'm speaking of.


In any way, which ever "side" it's coming from, all I can say is, get over it.

 

No, the President has been accused of having scandals. None of them has ever been proven, just recirculated to get the right wing base all riled up to vote for the party that makes the rich richer and their base poorer.

 

I agree with you a million percent about many, many, many of the "scandals".

But there are some scandals- drones and the NSA to name just two of them that are legit.

 

What lies? Please do provide proof of your opinion of the President of the United States. Or, just admit you're a person who has a problem with a black man running this nation and getting the guy who was the master mind behind attacking our nation.

 

I've seen both sides of the coin from those two posters (yogi and hotwater)- Yogi-who I suspect part of his problem with the prez is his skin color and hotwater.... who has pretty much said in other threads and maybe earlier in this one (think so, actually) that the president is doing fantastic and is something to be proud of simply because of his skin color. In any case, with those two posters I've seen what I believe to be both. Liking and disliking him based on skin color.

Both annoy me.

But what can you do?

I don't have a lot of time right now because I have to sign off here in next 5 mins to take my three year old to the store... but in any case, when I have more time I will be happy to let you know some details of why I am someone who voted for Obama at least once and has never voted republican (and doesn't judge anyone, good or bad, based on skin color or anything else silly- like if the potus was a female, though I am a female...) has become disillusioned with the potus and no longer supports him. There are plenty of things and I mentioned two of them earlier w NSA and drones. Him not sticking to his promises to the base before elected is another reason. But in any case, that's all the time I have now... cept to say I am not more disillusioned with Obama than I was with George W (the whole two terms)... I no longer see presidents as acting very different from each other. Obama being like Bush is ANOTHER reason I have.

 

Guantanamo Bay is a scandal, and he did say he'd close it.

As a European it's hard for me to gauge how he's done on US domestic policy, but I am disappointed with his Foreign policy, which doesn't seem very progressive at all.
Over both Syria and Ukraine, I think it's actually been a bit of a disaster.

Nonetheless, I'm glad he did get a second term as the Republicans would probably have been far worse.

 

I do not think Yogi is racist. He just likes to throw around the N word because he thinks it is ok - free speech. Not in the racist sense - he thinks. The N word can be attributed to white people in his little world (The shinning example of a worthless, Lowlife N). It is basically to get a rise out of people and the belief it is ok to use racist words because they are said by black people too. It is possible to criticise Obama with out using the N word or be even more idiotic by saying 'Osama' rather than 'Obama'. Oh, how funny. Hotwater, well, he seems to think anybody of colour is too cool for school. Rarely deviating from the the black panther rule book. So yes, probably two sides of the same troll coin. I don't think any of the so-called scandals were because of skin colour.

 

GWB said the same thing. It really isn't upto either one of them to be able to close it. GWB also said he would pull all troops from Iraq etc. He just ran out of time. So it might be seen as a victory for Obama, when the leg work was done before he was even in office.

His foreign policy has been just as bad, if not worse in some ways (drones) as George W... but the scariest part is, because Obama is a democrat and supposedly more progressive or whatever (give me a break) a lot of people didn't see it for a long time... or worse, still don't see it. He may as well just given George W four terms and nothing much would have been different.

Yea, Yogi may not be a racist and I shouldn't have implied that he def. was or anything. I meant saying a racist term--- just throwing it around like it's okay. But yes, you're right. I am 100% sure he is from that school of people (I have been friends w some of them before) that think exactly what you said-black people say it and they do also use it for white people that they consider lowlifes. I have known plenty of people like that... I just personally don't agree with it. I just don't think it's "cool" or whatever to throw around words that are useless.... whether a person is white or black actually. But to each their own.

The prob is that when people like Yogi say what they said about Obama, someone else is almost always gonna come and say what that other guy said "what proof do you have other than skin color???!" - so basically what I'm saying is, that if you have valid points about the man, you'd be paid much more attention to by not using childish, racist words and instead talking about what it is you don't like about the man. The scandals, whatever. As I said before, there are plenty of them.

And hotwater is just brainwashed. I really think he has led a sheltered, upper middle class life so I think it's funny because most of the black guys I know from the ghetto aren't like him.... but then there's hotwater-- but yea, I'm done w that topic for now. Hehe.

 

You're confirming my own view really with all of that. And actually, Obama has annoyed me this week. For one thing, he made a speech where he came down on the side of the 'No' campaign in the current debate we have over here about the Scottish independence referendum. I feel that was wrong in principle - it might seem threatening to some Scots to think America opposes their independence.
America, that fought a war for her own independence should not seek to influence whether another country should become independent by democratic means. So it seems to me. If I were a Scot, I am pretty sure I'd vote for independence. As an English person though, it would be bad news, as it would alter the political demographic of the country and ensure a future that was 100% Tory.

Second source of annoyance is the whole thing over Ukraine and Russia.
Which I don't want to go into as it's just too complex. But I just think the idea of taking on Russia is absurd and extremely dangerous.

 

Yea, the Ukraine situation is complex to talk about but I agree with you there.

And I really knew almost nothing about the Scottish independence thing but from what you said I also agree. I do not know why Obama really had to comment at all on it. Being that it's none of his business but he should def. understand, like you said, being how the US fought a war for independence. Very strange actually but perhaps just trying to stand on the side of a main ally (England)? But yea, not sure why he felt the need to comment at all....

But that and the Russia/Ukraine situation....as well as many, many, many other things just goes to show (not that everyone doesn't know this already) that the US Gov thinks it has to get it's nose in anybody and everybody's business.

 

The Scots independence thing is also complicated, and I can't go into it in any detail, as this isn't the place. But my guess is that Obama is doing David Cameron a favour here - or so it seems. But - and this complicates it even more - at the same time, Obama is saying America wants Britain in the EU, while Cameron is being forced by his own right wingers to move ever closer to pulling the UK out of Europe.

However, America is the dog, the Uk is the tail. So if it does suit the US for us to stay in Europe, probably that will hapen, and I would be happy if that was the outcome.

Just occurs to me that most Americans probably don't realize the potential we have over here right now for major dissolution. Scotland could vote to leave the UK. No more Union Jacks!
England could then leave the EU - from that point on I see only rapid meltdown and decline.

 

Hmmm.... so all that going on is why there's been a thread lately about whether England should stay in the EU or not? I haven't read that thread btw. But anyways, so you see things as going bad if those things happen, hmm? (I should go check out that other thread then when I have a chance since all this is probably in there?)
