In the past I have been a harsh critic of Obama. He seems to me to finally becoming a good President. I hope for the best FROM this President and see good reasons for starting to beleive in him at the very least. ...Oscar

In other news, 3000 us military personnel contract ebola, to save moronic fucks who steal infected mattresses, because they think ebola is really just a lie of the us government, or something.

...I kid, I think we should do something about it. I just have absolutely no respect for obama or anything he "decides" to do.

Obama and/or America aren't the only ones making an effort to help those people at all. I don't know how Oscar or VG think Obama/America is making the only or main effort in this regard, they probably make their convictions after coming across one particular post or news item or something.

 

According to aid workers in Africa, the international response has been extremely slow but I'm sure other countries have helped to a certain extent. I haven't really looked into it though.

America just does this kind of thing for the PR, but I'm cool with it. I would rather 'murca lead in humanitarian aid rather than lead in most bombs dropped on the middle east, since it keeps insisting on being a leader and all.

 

I think national news is firstly focussing on what it's own country's government or help organisations are doing. I said what I said because I didn't hear about America's aid (yet) but I noticed some dutch doctors came back and are put into a 3 week quarantine. There's also dutch organisations looking into buying experimental meds (not only or primarily for african countries naturally but still). So it makes sense Oscar only heard about what America is doing but I think it is naive to assume that's the only thing happening just like that. His sudden love/support for Obama is kind of dubious anyway.
