I have been a critic of President Obama. Those days are gone. I am once again proud to be an American. To all you naysayers out there who have not a clue as to just how effective AIR STRIKES are, watch and learn. GET SOME OBAMA and US Armed Forces.! ! ! These ISIS monsters are going down and fast. Like I said: Watch and learn. Perhaps Obama`s time spent on the golf course with his NBA pals was not time wasted. Those guys are not sissies. American airpower was awesome back in 1968 to 1970 when I was a young US Marine serving as an infantryman in Viet Nam. That airpower has grown exponetially since then. We won the first Gulf war in 1991 in case you forgot. The MOTHER OF ALL SURRENDERS. Yes GHW Bush pissed away that victory but they did surrender. His screwed up handling of that victory in no way disputes US airpower`s effectiveness. The Iraqis surrened en masse in case you forgot. ...Oscar

You can't bomb these people back to the stone age, without dragging them forward in time.

This can only create greater resentment of america, greater popular support for these barbarians, and actual risk of harm to america from them. Not to mention the harm done to america (moral, financial, image-related, tactical) by waging war.

There are some times bombing bad guys makes sense, like our very first bombing of isis. What obama has declared is not one of those times.

Do you remember how that awesome air power you witnessed in vietnam worked out, in terms of winning the war? It turned every single person in the country against us. There will be nobody left on our side, if there currently is anyone on our side - just like vietnam. They pretend to be because they're hungry - that's it.

 

Yup I remember that. Twenty years later the US withdrew all troops.

Twenty fucking years paying billions to military contractors.

Now we're right back where we started. Maybe worse.

Agreed, I don't think OP is serious. If he is, I pity him sincerely for his inability to interpret historic and political events accurately. But I don't know if we can blame him, after all like he said: he was a US marine..
