My girlfriend is pregnant and for the last 2 months or so has been obsessed with the smell of fresh cut wood (that Home Depot scent)... I actually do carpentry stuff as a hobby, have my own little garage full of stuff and she is always in there... I think it’s funny... anyone else have something like that?
does anyone dislike the smell of fresh cut wood? it's a really nice smell. as long as it didn't get burned in the cutting at least.
Maybe just cuz the senses are heightened and women are more sensitive during pregnancy so something that usually smells good is extra good now. Just as long as she isn't eating paint chips or ice,I think it is. That is called pica ,I believe and means you're deficient in iron vitamin. I craved bubble gum snow cones, licorice, potato tacos...
^ yeah, i like the smell of burning wood in that context. but wood burned during cutting seems to have a different smell. not sure if it's because it's a friction burn rather than a fire burn, or because of the chemicals the wood is treated with, or what. hell, it could just be my imagination i suppose.
Just realized I knew I read fresh cut wood but was thinking freshly cut, burnt wood... I guess any death to trees fragrance smells good,in a way..sad,but true
Yeah I like the smell too but we’re at the point of joking about it because she’ll say, can we go to the garage so I can just sit in there and smell all the wood you’ve been sawing? Or she’ll jokingly ask me to go saw something haha... idk it’s cute and I like to tease her about it
