I couldnt imagine purposely going into a boxing match at 40

Not that I was ever non-pussy enough to get into anything other that a bitch slap competition at any age

    Still, at 40 geesh

I dont even run down stairs anymore in case a knee pops

Getting in a ring with a 28 yr old that could turn you into the next Christopher Reeve, crazy....even though Mayweather will probably win, still

Considering the fact that neither can keep his big mouth shut that's a bold prediction :D

Technically and tactically, the odds are on Mayweather's side due to his long experience whereas this is Conor Mcgregor's first professional match.

In terms of physical conditioning, the odds are on Conor's side due to his youth and extensive training.

The odds are in favour of Mayweather, but I am rooting for the underdog Conor.

I agree. An MMA fighter with novice boxing skills, and fighting against Mayweather....in a boxing fight? (Shaking my head)
I just want this bullshit to be over with, sick of hearing of these guys mouths!

Short answer: the guy with no professional boxing matches under his belt will probably not beat one of the greatest professional boxers who ever lived in a boxing match.

Long answer: The match will probably be very tedious, as Floyd is such an incredible defensive boxer, the chances of Conor landing his signature left hand (his only hope of really taking the win) are minimal. Floyd will probably dance around him for the whole thing without taking any damage.

That said, It's a fairly interesting match up. Floyd is a great defensive boxer with fantastic defensive movement. Conor uses his wide open karate stance to try and coral his opponents into a position where he can feed them into his left. So it could come down to Conor being able to control Floyd's movement, shutting him down. Frankly though, with moves like these:

Floyd could probably stand right in front of Conor and have Conor hit nothing but air, and Conor's signature left leaves him wide open.

    7-1 in favour of Mayweather.

Well I bet 500K in an MMO I play that Mayweather will win. But secretly I want McGregor to win because I like MMA and don't care much for boxing.

Mayweather hasn't ran his mouth as much in this fight but overall I have heard more trash from floyd...maybe because he been around longer.

The longer the fight the more likely floyd wins. And being it's don't expect a knockout I am pretty certain he wins on points.

Macgregor has definitely got age on his side--I think people might be underestimating that advantage, especially if Mayweather relies heavily on speed and agility. I would feel embarrassed for Mayweather if he lost, $350 million can't buy you back a perfect record if you end up losing.

I honestly don't like to watch either boxing or mma. I think it contributes to violence in society, honestly. But I have seen stuff about this particular fight on TMZ and elsewhere as well. I don't know who will win though. I'm not very good at predicting things anyway. Are they evenly matched though considering the age difference? I think that Mayweather must have trained extra to compensate for that, but I don't know that it will do any good. I'm closing on forty and have sciatica, so I can't even imagine what it must be like. Best of luck to both. I hope no one gets hurt.

I hope McGregor wins... Mayweather is a woman beater and needs one good knockout punch...

You don't like fighting sports but you watch TMZ?! So training your ass off in combat is more violent than shaming people for their clothes choices or airing their dirty laundry that isn't anyone's business anyway? It's all kind of violent when you think about it, just in different ways. [IMG]

This is honestly like the world tennis number one deciding to challenge the world squash number one to a squash match. There are transferable skills but the sports are inherently different.
