Pot or Cannabis does actually have an analgesic effect. New study out in regards to CBD at Virginia Tech School of Veterinary Medicine. Study has been completed and peer reviewed, but nit sure if published. Having said that there is evidence in canines and other animals that there is a receptor, specifically a pain receptor for the CBD component of marijuana. Whether it was always there or it was induces by the presence of the compound is up for debate, but scientifically speaking there is evidence that it exists or can be formed/induced. Human study is next.

it's only the CBD component, they have separated the THC component as it offers no value in pain control

It may not help, but it sure as heck doesn't hurt. Back about 30 years ago I used it several times to relieve my headache, which I don't have often at all. It worked quite well for that.

I haven't tried it that much.

What I can say about tramadol - it's more like it takes your mind someplace else, and I think pot is the same. You aren't bothered by the pain even if it's still there. But again, I have almost no experience using pot to alleviate pain. I initially wanted it for sciatica, but the pain comes and goes with that - it's there for days and then it's gone for another year. So there are limitations in so far as how much you can experiment pain relief wise if it's sciatica like mine you suffer from.

Anyway, I wouldn't rule it out! :) Marijuana is super powerful and a potent substance, so maybe not bad.

True, it doesn’t help people with cancer and pain in the least. This has been known for a long time, anyone who has smoked it knows this over decades. It might help them sleep a little easier, and increase their appetite. Not sure why virginia tech thought it did.

    Marijuana and Cancer

Because of it's federal status clinical trials with humans are rare and have been rather small. Thus doesn't mean that it doesn't help people with cancer. It means we don't know how it helps people with cancer.

  10. I personally don't use pot. But for those that do the one thing you need to be careful with is making sure that it's legalised in your country/state/province
If it isn't it's best to look for creams and other stuff to use.
People you need to contact your local member of parliament to get it legalised.
Otherwise the cops will come to your house and get you into strife for drugs

it helps one ''handle'' pain...duh.....ortho pain.....it can rid one of a bad head ache in minutes....junkies going through the pain of withdrawal use cannabis to ride it out and avoid completely the retching and hellish pain from profuse vomiting ….I don't want to get into a whole thing here but I have 79ish inches of surgical scars.....more than I am tall......

other than what they shoot you up with at the hospital I have used ONLY cannabis to get through it from the second I could haul myself into a wheelchair and get outside to smoke....go ahead and question the ''good'' of medical weed...its too late lol

actually studies for ortho pain has not been research enough, nor have many of the test results been accurate. Many of the studies have not been done in a controlled scientific manner and have been used as a means to make sales.

A discovery made by researchers studying Cannabis sativa more than three decades ago is back in the scientific spotlight, thanks to a major breakthrough that could transform how we treat pain. That 1981 discovery, which identified two cannabis plant-specific molecules with pain-relieving properties thirty times stronger than aspirin, has laid dormant for years, mostly because scientists had no idea how cannabis plants made those molecules, let alone how to extract them or synthesize them in large enough quantities. But a pioneering team of researchers in Canada just solved the riddle. And a major Canadian pharmaceutical company is already at work developing pain medicines that take advantage of these specialized chemicals. So what are they?

Cannabis Flavonoids Are Thirty Times More Effective than Aspirin for Pain Relief
If you’re paying attention to the ever-growing enthusiasm over using cannabis for health and wellness, you’ve probably heard of THC and CBD. THC, of course, is the psychoactive cannabinoid that human beings have enjoyed for recreational and therapeutic purposes since antiquity. And CBD, it’s non-psychoactive counterpart, is currently enjoying virtually celebrity status for its ability to help treat everything from seizures to stress.

I don't remember the university but it may have been queens that is in on this study...it should be easy to find but I am kinda tired

Study Finds Molecules 30 Times More Pain Relieving Than Aspirin in Cannabis

nope, no problem what so ever. Just adding to your links. You however have a need to belittle people. Was rude to you in any way? Nope! Do I care if you are? Not in the least. Says more about you, than your claims regarding me, no need for me to point out what that is either. :)

Perhaps you two should get a room and work this out in private...?
