I like it, YFM : ) Nothing to be self-conscious of. Drawing is so good for us, I feel. It's sad that as a kid we do it without worrying about quality then as adults we feel the only people meant to draw are people with MeAgain's talent (which is wonderful to see though) ... It was MeAgain, I think.. Drew the amazing bird. If it was someone else, sorry.
Love everyone's pictures! Keep it up! Thanks for kind words...here's another: Excuse the bad lighting.
A couple hours stretched over a couple days. That one is an early one, I was learning colored pencils on it. They take a little longer now because I use a solvent on the pencil lead and it has to dry before the next layer can go on. It's fun.
First is a very rough sketch of general proportions that I made in order to calculate materials I'd need. Next is a photo of the finished product. It's a garden folly in the form of a ruined corner of a Gothic abbey or chapel. I created it in June based on that original drawing of a couple of months earlier. The garden folly stands near a previously unloved and unused corner of the property, and it now looks as though it's been there forever. I don't know why I kept the drawing, but I did, and it demonstrates the path from mind to hand to three-dimensional reality. I changed the shape of the window along the way, and the finished folly is about 1.5X the size of the original plan.
