Spending less time on HF lately, since both our daughters have bought houses that were almost derelict for me to virtually rebuild for them. Along with simple things, such as rewiring and replacing heating systems, I have had to remove chimney breasts, construct a new staircase and replace most of the floor timbers. In one case, I have had to replace the purlin struts supporting the roof. It is now in it's fourth year. LOL Great to see that you are still around on here, your picture was also similar to my mental image, You are the image of our neighbour who is native to Barbados. He and his wife did the food for both our daughters weddings. Our eldest daughter had twins 15 months ago, so being a met police officer, Jane looks after them for a few days every week, along with working full time from home looking after the government salaries and pensions. Jane is younger than me, a mere 70 LOL. Hopefully everything is good with you, hopefully we will come across each other more on HF, now that the Candy invasion is over.
Good to see you back on here, man. Yeah, I’m hanging in there, I’m not going anywhere, lol. You been pretty busy remodeling houses, I see. Quite a bit of work. There’s some things I would like to do to ours- just setting aside some serious money for those projects. The cost of building materials is still pretty high here- smh! Again, welcome back. Great hearing from you again HF brother!
Total hip replacement yesterday. When they tried to stand me up, it felt like I was bayoneted in the thigh, and my blood pressure dropped spectacularly. They moved about half of an ICU into my room, and poked and prodded me all night to an incessant cacophony of electronic beeps and alarms. Hopefully I'll do better today.
I had both of my hips replaced (right in 2006 and left in 2008) Recovery is indeed possible but painfully slow at the beginning. Remember patience and to take care of yourself.
Made it into the hallway on a walker, but had to abort when my BP crashed. We'll try again this afternoon.
Wow, I’m just now seeing this and this is my thread ……Hoping that you recover well from your hip replacement surgery, brother! Regardless of all the chaos that went on there, it’s good to see that you’re in good spirits and hanging in there. Please keep us posted.
Today is my 67th birthday - as I often say "I woke up sexy as hell again today!" However, the air quality is poor here in Syracuse, New York today - caused by wildfires north of Ottawa, Ontario - drifting heavy smoke into the area.
